Ruidoso Valley Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center — Local services in Ruidoso

I am appalled at the lack of care or empathy from the director of the Chamber of Commerce/Visitors Center. We are from out of state visiting, and my 4-year-old daughter was beyond looking forward to finding fairies on the Two Rivers Fairy Trail. As we are going down the trail not finding any, I called the Chamber to ask if they knew (parks and rec was not yet open, and the chamber’s phone number is what is listed on Discover Ruidoso). Although their website says, “enjoy your stay to the fullest extent” and they claim they are here to help you, they are not. The DIRECTOR is who answered my call and was incredibly uncaring and then HUNG UP ON ME. Apparently the fairies are already taken down, even though that is not posted anywhere. I told her I understand it’s not under their domain, but since they work with entities for Ruidoso, it would be nice if it would be posted so little girls didn’t get excited to just then be let down (again, they are the contact info listed, so they certainly have some realm of say in it). She was silent to that then said “have a great day!” and hung up. I am shocked. I called back, spoke to another person who said the director is who I spoke to, and then this other person hung up on me as well. We have had an amazing vacation in Ruidoso, but what a terrible way to end it with people who are supposed to be helpful. Deborah Douds, you should feel terrible for your poor customer service being the director of the Chamber. I don’t think working for the visitors center is the best place for you. Visitors...

Don't ask anyone from this place for anything! And if you do, they would not help you anyway. I was looking for leads on housing as I was evicted from an eval landlord . And called this place.
