Having lived all over this nation, I find the Ruidoso Community Center 1 of the better Community centers anywhere. It has modest decor and basic workout equipment...certainly not a luxury establishment. But the plethora and variety of the free (or very minimal cost) activities, games (like the party Bridge group I do), fun exercise programs (like the Line Dancing group my wife does), etc. Their monthly calender lists about a doz or more different activities each day! And a small library like area with 2 public computers, puzzle table & always a puzzle in the works just inviting everyone to find a piece or 2. Every Wed they have a Community Lunch, only $1 if you bring a side dish. Occasionally they have local musicians entertaining your lunchtime. Friday morning Breakfast is only $2...something we have come to regularly enjoy with our granddaughter B4 she starts school. Soooo, nothing extravagant or glitzy, but certainly clean and comfortable and welcoming, with more activities than you can possibly have time to enjoy.
