My family and I have stayed at this hotel for at least 8 years (possibly longer) when we come to visit family. The location itself is a convenient distance from the airport, with plenty of dining options within a reasonable distance (1-2 miles max) including some options right across the street. Beyond the perks of close proximity to SMF and food, this place has gone downhill IMMENSELY since our last stay here a few years ago (pre-pandemic). The appearance from the street is still good, and from the front lobby area, you’d never know anything had gone awry. Our latest stay (August 2021) has been bad. The hotel takes the time to put a “cleaned and sanitized” seal sticker on the door to each room, yet the rooms haven’t been thoroughly cleaned in ages! We had a first floor room with 2 queen beds. The room doesn’t have a built-in closet, but rather a poorly assembled ikea-style cabinet closet. The top of it is so dusty, it has likely been over a month since it’s been properly cleaned. The top of the TV had visible dust on it. Any hard & flat surface above 5ft from the ground has visible dust buildup. I’m 6’3”, so I can see on top of these items (closet, tv, artwork, mirror, etc) all covered in a layer of dust beyond normal “oops! We must’ve missed it!” buildup. The room we had was poorly maintained overall, with peeling paint and wallpaper, stained caulking in the bathroom, disgusting grout in between the floor tile, and a shower door that is installed on the wrong side of the shower! The noise level overnight is atrocious, with staff slamming doors to the maintenance room in the same hallway repeatedly throughout the night (past 10 pm). After being gone for the day, we arrived back to the hotel in the evening with our hands full with dinner and day-bags, only to find our room keys had been deactivated. Staff (2 of them) at the front saw us with hands full and visibly irritated over the key cards not working, and rather than one of them step aside to ask if we needed something, they gave us a sassy “we’ll be with you in a minute”. It’s clear that the staff and the owners of this property take ZERO pride in the level of service they provide. The lack of attention to detail is alarming, their attentiveness to the needs of guests is profoundly lacking. They’re sure to put a $6 bottle of Evian water (that likely costs them less than $0.50) in the rooms, but can’t properly clean them, maintain them, or serve guests with respect, dignity, and professionalism. This will be our last stay at this property, as there are plenty of newer properties with more amenities in very close proximity at comparable (if not lower) price points. The people operating this property have no clue what they’re doing in the hospitality business, or they’re aware of the issues throughout and choose not to address them. Regardless of what the root cause(s), the condition of the property (mainly guest rooms) is...
Read moreFirst, this hotel is nice!
Really happy with the facility in general. It's in a great location for getting to the airport. The bed was extremely comfortable and everything was really nice and clean. Parking was a little bit of an issue because they seemed to be having some sort of gala across the parking lot, but aside from that evening parking was more than adequate.
My issue was one of service when I arrived. I am a recent member of the SPG program and this was my first reward booking. I had just arrived from mountain climbing in the Cascades from the week. After I made the reservation online, I called to request a room with a bathtub. I was told that it wouldn't be a problem.
Excellent! I normally prefer showers, but I was pretty sore from mountaineering so a hot bath would have been awesome.
I checked in, made sure I was getting a room with a bathtub, got the SPG floor (nice!), and brought my 50lbs of backpack up to the room. Lay down, then go to the bathroom...no bath. How annoying!
So I assumed it was a mistake and took my stuff to the front desk to inquire about 10 minutes after my initial check in. A seemingly nice guy told me immediately after asking about the bath that there was not a room available with a bath, despite what I was told on the phone. So I mentioned that when I called, I was told that it wouldn't be an issue.
He then told me that he could check to see if there were any rooms with a bath available (didn't check the first time I asked, why?). He checked and said that there was a room with a bath available (go figure...) next door to my original room.
Okay, great! So I thank him and head back up to the top floor with my bag for the second time. Get into the new room and...NO BATHTUB! WHAT!
I didn't do anything after this. I'm not the type to complain about minor things. It wouldn't have been a big deal if they had said there were no rooms with baths when I called originally. It wouldn't have been a big deal if they said when I arrived that they were sorry but there was no room with a bath. And it wouldn't have been a big deal to get an apology and say there were no rooms with baths available after I had gone into my bathtub-less room. It was a pretty annoying experience going back and forth and being told several times that I was getting a room with a bathtub only to be left empty handed at the end of a rather annoying experience.
The only thing that would make me laugh would be to be told that this hotel did not have rooms with bathtubs at all.
Also, the USB plug on the desk did not work.
I would recommend this place because of its cleanliness, the state of the rooms, and its location. And the shower was really nice with the sliding glass door (which I would have preferred 99% of the time over a bathtub). Come for all that good stuff, but don't expect much...

I booked the room thinking its Sheraton, so it must be decent, but I was very wrong and disappointed. it was the most disgusting hotel I had ever seen. The carpets were stained, things stuck on it from maybe months or years ago, the sheets were worn out, stained, there was a lot of hair under the bedding, the walls were smeared with who-knows what, I was about to throw up. Their front desk agent came to provide me a clean room and saw everything with her own eyes. All she could say is " sorry, I'm not housekeeping. I don't know what these stains are" "Sorry we can't live up to your standards" and despite not taking their room, they refused to refund my money. I tried to work with them and they showed me three rooms, each being more disgusting, stained and filthy then the last.
The young lady at the front desk acted as if there was some manager who would resolve the issue. She picked up the phone to call the "manager" and had a smirk on her face because she was probably talking to her relative, when the front desk girl is probably the relative or owner of the hotel. Then after the phone call, the front desk girl explains she has np authority to refund money even when a guest does not take their dirty room. But they have no problem at charging you and holding your money like the thieves they are. I called the police to help mediate and resolve the issue (I know it's not a criminal issue, but the police are still peace officers and are entrusted to help people when in trouble), but they had no respect for them and refused to work with them at all just saying the same thing " there is no manager, sorry." The young lady at the front desk could only recommend calling back to speak with a manager.
When I called the next day, after being put on hold, made to wait, transferred, I finally reached the "manager". It was the same young lady from last night at the front desk now claiming " sorry, I can't refund anything Ii have to speak with the upper management AND accounting." I wish I had read the yelp reviews about this place before booking. They give details about other guest's experiences and pictures of the filth they had to sleep in.
Bottom line, these people are crooks, this hotel is run by a family not a corporation and have no standards from housekeeping to customer service. Stay far away from this heck hole and book another place! There are PLENTY of hotels...
