IHOP — Restaurant in Sacramento

In the past I would've chose to not leave a mediocre/not the greatest review for a business, because I, myself, am not perfect, actually far from it, and I know that everybody can have an off day once in a while. This restaurant seemed to have an off day three out of three times, though. That in itself will cause me to look for another IHOP when I get the craving for some yummy pancakes. We tried this particular IHOP 3 times within about a month. 1st Time: (Sometime between 5-8pm) Ordered a Chicken Fajita and a BLT w/French Fries and a Strawberry Sundae inside for Take-Out. They told us to come back in 10 – 15, went back in around 12 or 13 minutes later, waited for another 10 to 15 minutes, they did get busy in the interim, had to send back the BLT and French Fries because items were cold, not warm, cold, and wrong bread was used for the toast. The Chicken Fajita was toasty warm and made to order (and was their typical good Fajita). 2nd Time: It was about 130 or 2 am, luckily I didn’t order and pay online like originally intended, because both Google Maps and IHOP’s website, along with the IHOP Android Application all stated that the restaurant was open and it was a 24 Hour/Day Location (along with the fact that I did all but pay for my order online, meaning that the app was going to allow me to pay for my order for pickup within 30 minutes, I would’ve been really mad then, but thankfully I waited until I drove there due to a restriction of a coupon that I was attempting to use. There were 3 cars parked out back, one of which left while I was sitting out front, of a entirely darkened IHOP that stated, via a handwritten sign, ‘CLOSED FROM 10PM -5AM DUE TO MAINTENANCE’. 3rd Time: We went back the following day around dinner time to order take out. We ordered the Strawberry and Vanilla French Toast with Extra Glazed Strawberries, Banana Slices and Whip Cream, which was as good as was hoped for, we also ordered the Turkey & Dressing With Sides of Broccoli and Red Potato and Onion Hash along with Desert Crepe with Ice-cream and Raspberry Sauce. The Crepe looked like a Crepe, but tasted quite good, the Broccoli and the Red Potato and Onion Hash were alright, but the Turkey and Stuffing tasted off for some reason, but I keep telling myself, ‘Ya, but it is a specialty breakfast restaurant’. I have been pleased with any other lunch or dinner items at the other IHOP locations that I have frequented, though. As a side note, when my friend inquired about the restaurant being closed and if those were new hours, HE WAS TOLD THAT THIS IHOP, ON ADVANTAGE WAY, WOULD BE CLOSED EVERY TUESDAY EVENING IN DECEMBER FROM 10PM TO 5 AM FOR MAINTENCE. 03/17/17 approximately 2300 hours, the wait staffs here were mostly females, they seem to have personal issues towards pretty women. My bf didn't appreciate how they were treating us. They were very annoying, pretty much hated us talking crap in the back of their little corner. The food and the sides took almost half an hour, cold omelettes, sirlion was over salted (meat isn't great at all). The sides tooks forever. She even forgot to ask what we want to drink cuz she's too busy getting discourage by my hotness look. We were hungry and exhausted but we stll tried to keep it calm the best we could, she just sabotage our appetite. We wanted to address the problem and it was weird how they talk to us including the cashier. Local people come in here were also notified, this place is a ghetto! We refused to get another good although she heard us from the back and instead of taking care of my bf's need, she actually got me a new order instead and with the mash potatoes I have ben waiting on lol funny how that works for her. We just gave up. And still got us charged for $22!

I promise you will be disappointed coming on thus shift, very unprofessional, unhealthy, nasty, unfriendly staff, uncomfortable place to eat and unacceptable! The white folks were super friendly staff, the others were just standing around, too busy hiding and discriminating my accent and look and wow the customer who moved near by were local, i can here them talking, they already know the issue before the waitress even get to us, they were goofing around and so at the register. And also on our way out, the female cashier can't even keep an eye contact with me when i'm talking, she literally calls my bf an omelettes guy. She claimed her sister works at Dennis across the street and we told her we are not familiar with the city, and she cussed me out like i'm stupid or something and basically suggested to.eat there (lack of training obviously). Too many drama. Ordering online would be fantastic but just being in that place was like hell, we had enough with the place. This place is a mess, dirty and very uncomfortable.(retarted wait staff). 8/19/23 I went back again to the same IHOP. This time mentioned my challenge with the butter not melting on my pancakes. She explained why it was so cold. She offered to warm up the butter for me and we were served fresh pancakes. Huge difference for me and our server received a nice tip as a thank you. 😀

8/4/23 I have eaten here twice since my mid July visit. The food was much better. Both times afterwards I did versions of the 2, 2, 2 options. My second visit I did scrambled eggs with a bit of cheese, bacon, hash browns and toast. Everything was delicious!!! Today, we arrived just before noon. I did the same order but with pancakes instead of hash browns/toast and no cheese on the eggs. It was served on a hot plate and kept things at a great temperature.. The pancake was much warmer but I preferred the hash browns over the pancakes. That surprised me due to their name. I would definitely go again.

Original review I just ordered pancakes. They were served lukewarm and the butter didn't want to melt on them.
