I made a reservation at this hotel well over a month ago booking a non-smoking studio suite. The morning before our reservation I received an email allowing me to even pick which room I wanted and check in because I was a Hilton Honors member. I did check in and pick a room. When we arrived at the hotel I was told that room 344 that I reserved was not clean and the gentleman checking me in asked if I was okay having 345 instead. I asked him if it was the same type of room and if it was non-smoking and he said "Yes" so I told him it was fine to put us in that room instead. When our family hauled of five hauled most of our luggage to room 345 we immediately where greeted by a rush of air that smelled like smoke. Upon looking at the sign outside the room it was clearing not a non-smoking room. We immediately left and went to the front desk to get a different room. The lady now at the desk, Monica (who was very nice) looked to find us a different room but said their were no non-smoking rooms available that would work for us. The fact that all that was keeping us from having the correct non-smoking room was that the room had not been cleaned all day seemed ridiculous! We were checking in about 7pm. Plenty of time to have housecleaning clean a room even if they were shorthanded because some employees didn't show up for work like she said had happened. The entire hotel just felt kinda dirty along with the carpets looking dirty. I asked Monica if she could check the neighboring hotels and she then checked with the Homewood Suites hotel next door and they too had no non-smoking rooms available. Finally the Holiday Inn express had rooms. We were pleased to learn that they were actually a SMOKE FREE hotel so no worries about getting a smoking room. Both my husband and my daughter have severe allergies to smoke and cannot stay in a smoking room. I was very disappointed with this Hampton Inn for not honoring my reservation. We were very happy at the Holiday Inn Express and it felt very clean. When we travel next we will only be booking a hotel that is completely smoke free like the Holiday...
Read moreWhen I went to my room, they gave me a handicap room that was not made up. When I went to the front desk she said we were out of rooms. I said the room was not ready. She said too bad, and said she's let me know. After 15 minutes I called back to her & she said, fine, I'll get you a room! The phone rang at 3:15 AM for a wake up call I did not order. When the same person was at the front desk, I told her the phone rang, and she said it was impossible. Unreal. I also booked a room for another co worker direct to the hotel. On Saturday, at a funeral our staff was attending, Nan, Front desk person, said he did not have a reservation for Saturday night & they were putting their luggage in the lobby. Again Unreal. I made the reservation myself, so I called the hotel & asked for a manager. She said they didn't have one. I then told her his reservation number & she said she didn't care & hung up. I called back & she hung up. I then called on another number & she said FINE, I'll keep them in the room. No one should have to go through this at all. The other front desk person apologized for her rude behavior. Never stay here The Hilton Garden Inn is right around the corner & brand new. The furniture in the lobby was filthy. The entire hotel is old & run down. I've never done a bad review, but this had to...
Read moreUpon checking out, I was told the next available airport departure shuttle was in 30 min. I decided to walk across the street to get some snacks at the grocery store. Upon leaving the store I called Hampton front desk to ask if there were other guests waiting for the shuttle. The man said no and it was fine if I was 5 min late at the hotel entrance to catch the shuttle. He then confirmed my name and guest room registration at the hotel. I arrived 5 min late just like I said and the hotel attendant said the driver left for an airport pickup. The desk attendant told the driver that I was on my way walking across the street but the driver left. The desk attendant had assured me there was no pending urgency and he had informed the shuttle driver that I, the single passenger, would arrive 5 minutes after the scheduled departure. The desk attendant told me that the driver refused to wait but didn't call me back to inform me. When the driver finally arrived 30 min later he was upset and argumentative. If the driver would have simply waited the 5 min allowed and assured by the desk attendant. Hanna was the supervisor on duty. The shuttle driver was Bruce. I did not get the gentleman's name attending the front desk who allowed me the 5 min window and informed this allowance to the...
