Sharing this review regarding the SPA only - I did not stay at the hotel. GROUPS FOR THE SPA BEWARE
Attempted to schedule massages for 5 friends here during our vacation- I called more than 2 months in advance of the date we were looking for and discussed each of us having a massage. After a thorough discussion with the staff member, she had stated that the group "party" package was not really in place anymore, but there are 2 massage rooms with 2 beds in each and she could still book us for staggered massages, either 3 or 4 at a time. She was enthusiastic about booking us and we walked through the pricing, which was as described on the website for individual massages (ranging around 150 to 170 depending on Swedish vs deep tissue). Great!
Something like 1 month later, I received a call from them stating they couldn't accommodate us at this price, they couldn't accommodate this number of massages because they don't have enough rooms, and they couldn't reserve 5 therapists. I reminded her that we had discussed the rooms on the last call when this was booked and that we were planning to stagger 3 or 4 of us at a time between the 2 rooms, rather than 1 at a time. When I asked about how many massage therapists they WERE able to confirm (and maybe some would be willing to do back to back session as opposed to reserving 5 different therapists) but she couldn't even tell me how many had confirmed availability. Furthermore, I asked why the price changed and inquired the amount. She said they could accommodate us for a fee of $200, but couldn't tell me if this was above and beyond the 150-170 for each person, if it was a per person total, or if it was an additional $200 fee split across the whole group - she had to ask her boss and call back. The rationale for price increase was that they would be using the entire spa space for just us and no one else could book anything... which seemed odd since we'd be paying for the services in those rooms like anyone else would. And to clarify, we weren't asking them to not allow anyone to use the other parts of the spa or the facial room which would be open still (ie not a private party).
The following week, I received a voicemail that stated the price was now actually going to be $250 per person, no information provided on if they could even get the massage therapists etc.
My impression of this is that they have no organization or concept of good customer service. After so much back and forth more than a month post booking, the owner should have called and explained this themself as opposed to having the front desk staff giving repeatedly incorrect information. This left me feeling very angry and a little like this was a money grab. Very disappointed - there's now no where in the area that can accommodate us this close to the date, so our spa day together can't...
Read moreWhile The Inn & Spa at Parkside in Sacramento gives the appearance of an upscale, romantic retreat, the reality of the experience falls far short of expectationsâespecially for the high price point.||||Despite the word âSpaâ in the name, there is no actual spa on-site. This is incredibly misleading, especially for guests who book expecting wellness amenities like massage services, steam rooms, or saunas. Instead, the property offers limited in-room services, if available at all, and without the atmosphere or infrastructure of a proper spa.||||Noise is another major issue. Rooms lack soundproofing, and itâs alarmingly easy to hear conversations, footsteps, and plumbing from neighboring rooms. For a place marketed as peaceful and luxurious, the lack of acoustic privacy is a constant disruption.||||The balconies are also a major letdown. Rather than serene views, many overlook a rundown alley scattered with broken-down food trucks, trash bins, and garbage, creating a stark contrast to the elegant image portrayed in marketing materials.||||Compounding these disappointments, the front desk staff leave early in the evening, meaning there is no on-site support after hours. Any issues that arise late in the dayâwhether noise complaints, amenity requests, or other concernsâgo unaddressed.||||The cost of the stay is high, but key services like daily housekeeping are not provided unless requested, and even then, staff seem reluctant to accommodate. This gives the impression of a hotel more concerned with minimizing costs than maximizing guest comfort.||||Parking is another ongoing frustration. Itâs limited, awkwardly arranged, and may require guests to park on nearby streetsânot exactly convenient, especially late at night.||||The Inn & Spa at Parkside relies heavily on its visual charm and branding, but fails to deliver a quiet, restful, or service-oriented experience. Between the misleading name, noisy rooms, unappealing views, lack of support, and poor value, guests may find themselves deeply disappointedâand...
Read moreCheck-in was very simple greeted at main House entry by very beautiful hostess that got me checked in super quick gave me a tour of the property it should me a ticket for a free drink at the bar/house cocktail area. Once I was ready the hostess showed me how to access the doors, they are controlled by a pincode automated lock. I stayed in the dream room which is an outstanding room and recommend to anybody as the best room of the house due to the setup. It is the full third floor room of the second house at the very top with a great view super quiet because there is no one above you it has one of the best showers ever with more water heads than I could count and a spa bathtub next to the bed. For a romantic getaway spot no place can match the Parkside in in Sacramento Stockton Modesto or Lodi and I have stayed at numerous hotels if you look through my other reviews. I'm the only other place that I could recommend with a spa tub is in Oakdale and they were new rooms were freshly remodeled otherwise than that I do not trust spot tubs due to lack of cleaning but this place the Parkside was impeccably clean. Room had all the amenities of a big chain hotel but without the clutter and hustle of a ton of rooms and people. I wish I got to enjoy the breakfast my trip was cut short I am sure it was outstanding and worth the $30 15 per person. and I am very upset at myself that I did not get to enjoy like I said once again would be a great breakfast. The inn at the Parkside bed and breakfast I highly recommend a weekend stay where the rates are the best Friday Saturday Sunday Monday and check out the dream room or any of the other rooms of the houses which there are two there is off-street parking if needed but you should not have to worry across the street is a beautiful park for walking and the school which during the weekend there are no kids no noise just a beautiful place to relax and enjoy an evening with your special loved one. Into the gorgeous hostess...
