Read moreTupi was a surprising delight. I ended up going here right before an event around 3:00 p.m.. there were a few people within the coffee shop enjoying their drinks and small bites.
The space itself was clean but also warm because of the colorful exterior that greeted you as you walked in.I you were greeted with the fresh smell of brewing coffee and espresso with a hint of sweetness that came from the treats close to the register.
I want to say thank you to the two people that were behind the bar. The first person who took my order was extremely friendly and knowledgeable regarding the drinks. It was my first time there and I asked him what would he recommend and the drink I was looking at was the Moreno and he said that is my absolute favorite. So I ended up getting it.
Hats off to the barista that made my drink because it was simply decadent. It was the right amount of milk, cinnamon chocolate, and sugar that made it taste almost like a liquid choco flan brownie. Yeah that's a lot of things mixed together but that's what my mind created in my head.
I also had a carrot cupcake as a snack. This was more of a small loaf of bread because of how much it packed. Each bite had both carrot and walnuts and the entire thing was so moist.
Definitely looking forward to going back and trying the other drinks and items...
Read moreI live near this place, in Southside Park. I really wanted it to be good because I frequented the coffee place that previously occupied this spot almost every other day. I really liked that place. In general Sacramento has a very strong coffee scene with a lot of great coffee and a lot of hip coffee shop spaces.
This place is not that. On the contrary, its clear that the people that run Tupi Coffee don't know anything about coffee (or interior design for that matter).
I never leave reviews for places but this particular establishment has failed me on so many levels and so many times that I feel compelled to tell the my neighbors to avoid this place. It does not deserve the rating that it currently has.
I've sucked up too many coffee grinds from the bitter iced coffees that this place shells out and tossed too many inedible breakfast sandwiches in the trash. I'm done with Tupi.
Can we agree that it's bad now?
Its clear that these people don't know what their doing. I wish them the best but the Sacramento coffee scene is too strong and this place will not last. I look forward to next (hopefully better) coffee spot in Southside Park. In meantime, I will continue to walk over...
