We were there Monday night through Saturday night for a wedding. Our room was part of the wedding blocked off for guests. Our room was nice - it was a suite on the third floor. Nice as it was, it only had 2 towels, 2 washcloths and 2 hand towels. No rolls of toilet paper except the half roll on the holder. I had to request more of these items - which the house keeping staff brought fairly promptly. I thought it was just wrong I had to request - staying 6 nights I thought the room would have been better stocked. There was no room safe. The room had 2 air/heat units. The first night I set the air con at 75 degrees. at 3 am, we were freezing! It was 58 degrees. I had to turn on the heat to warm up the room. The second night I set the heat at 71 degrees, which it stayed all night. The third night, I set the heat again at 71 and it got up to 78 degrees and I had to turn the air con on!! It was like that all week! apparently the thermostat isn't working correctly or something! I didn't have time to request service because we were on the go for the wedding events! We had breakfast at Starbucks the first morning. The second morning it was closed by 9:30 am! What?! The in room coffee pot didn't work well, and the coffee was not good. One would expect a hotel like Marriott to have coffee available in the lobby area or somewhere that is open past 9:30 am! Also, the shortened hours of Kipps, the Irish pub, was a disappointment. It's a nice enough hotel, staff were friendly. But it was lacking in customer service. Also, several rooms booked online for the wedding block, couldn't be found when guests were checking in. One couple spent almost 4-5 hours correcting the issue, because the staff couldn't find their reservation, they had to book through Orbitz (because it was cheaper) then the next day the reservation was found, so they cancelled Orbitz! What a headache! We realize some of the staff was...
Read moreI have stayed in Many Marriotts in the past and I have to say this was not a good experience to say the least. It was not what I had be accustomed too from a Marriott Hotel. We returned back to our room #610. In the late afternoon to see it had been cleaned as we had requested. When my wife sad down on the bed, the bedding it felt damp. I called down to the front desk and informed them of that and they said they would send someone up to take care of it. My wife and I went down into the lobby and asked at the desk if they would let us know when we would be able to return to our room. 40 minutes later I went back over to the front desk to inquire about our room and were told "oh you can go back up any time". We returned to our room to find out that only the bed had been remade where my wife had pulled down the cover. The bedding was still damp. Again I called down to the front desk and reported it and asked that it be addressed, that we were going out for dinner and would appreciate it be done while we were out. Returning back to the hotel after 9pm upon entering the room my wife pulled down the cover to find that the top sheet was damp and reached into the coverlet and the comforter was damp. I again called down to the front desk and asked for a manager and was informed that he was not available until I said I can't stay in a room like this, then I was told to hold on. I was then put through to the manager on call, it was to late for me to look to switch hotels or I would have. I asked for a blanket to be brought up for my wife to sleep with. The manager said he would bring one up and he did. My wife showed him that the inside of the coverlet was damp and the top sheet too. He removed them and left. This was by far the worst experience we have had at a Marriott. When we went to check out this morning we were asked by the manager we saw last night had we...
Read moreStayed on 11/15 to 11/17. This was a leisure stay and not for business. I booked through Marriott.com but when booking was told no two queen rooms or suites were available. I called the hotel directly and Nicole told me that when the booking came through she would flag it and make sure I had a double room. We checked in and sure enough we had a double room. We checked in and went to the room. Know that this was a recreation weekend with two grandkids. We entered the room and everything was clean and looked good but it just felt too small for us and two kids. We went back downstairs and asked if we could be upgraded to a suite. We have stayed in this hotel a few times before and knew the suites had pull out couches. Aaron was able to upgrade us for a just $10/night more and it was perfect. Even the pull out couch was relatively comfortable according to my wife and granddaughter. There was a small housekeeping issue with the suite but one call to the front desk and it was resolved in five minutes and there was a later follow up by the head of housekeeping. A nice touch. The hotel has a decent pool area that the kids loved. Kip's (the onsite restaurant) is excellent. The dinners are delicious, good bar, live music on Friday's and a decent breakfast buffet with made to order omelets and waffles and a variety of other hot and cold offerings at a reasonable price. The front desk staff really sets this hotel apart. They are friendly, professional and even cheerful. They make you want to come back...
