Duncan McClellan Gallery is among my very select favorites.

It is a world apart from the blase, stagnant vanilla shell atmosphere at a ballroom or hotel meeting space. This venue has personality, charm, stunning blown glass artwork, and a sculpture garden with winding boardwalks enhanced by evening ambient lighting.

The indoor /outdoor venue is a cross between a funky Key West courtyard and a cosmopolitan art gallery with impressive glass and sculpture offerings from around the globe.

Their Chill Lounge brings both worlds together and includes an outdoor stage and reception area that can accommodate a casual event or transform for the most sophisticated soiree.

A glass-blowing demonstration can add to their unique offerings for your event and will captivate your guests.

Owners Duncan and Irene McClellan are amazing hosts and the creators of this incredible space. Along with their sweet resident felines, they are a pleasure to work and will provide the backdrop for a memorable out-of-the-box...

This is often reviewed here like a museum, but admission is free because this is basically a high-end store and gallery. There was no sales pressure, but prices seemed to start at the several $100s with most work at $1,000 and up. Also, the works I personally examined were from series (like #1-350). I wish I had known this prior to purchase, but that is on me, as the work is stamped with the number on the bottom. I assumed all the glasswork was one-off artist inspiration, unlike at a store (this distinction is what makes a place a store vs. a gallery to me). I invite the owner to comment on the process for creating series work; is this a team following a production model? In either case, there is impressive glasswork to see, and I might return, but probably not make another purchase unless...

World-class glass free to take a look around in. As someone who hasn't seen much more glass than a vase here and there, it's not an exaggeration to say the art on display is truly stunning. I can't even wrap my head around how most of it's made. On top of the unique atmosphere and amazing work, Duncan was there and greeted us kindly right away. We're new to town and he spent time chatting with us about St Pete even though he was supposed to be getting ready to go take care of something... Very personable and interested in growing the community, and it shows. The other staff were also quite nice and activated the video-enhanced piece, explaining it for us and introducing the cats!
