So this is my second time staying at a Wyndham hotel. See previous review. I normally stay at Best Western or Marriots. But due to vomit on the walls and a tub full of dirty bath water they bribed me with a bunch of "wyndam points" and asked for me to give it one more try. So we came here to this one. First, I saw the reviews so I kind of knew what I was getting into. However, the latest reviews seemed better so I thought maybe the owner (also based on the owners responses to the reviews which were nice) maybe they stepped it up and made changes. Uhhhh def not. Here's my experience;
Hotel is dirty and run down. I went to the front desk and noone was there. I rang the bell and waited about 3 minutes. No big deal. Rang it again and waited a bit longer. The girl didn't really greet me. She actually seemed annoyed I showed up. There was a young guy and girl that looked about her age that emerged from the back where she was and they quickly left. I got a room. I had to pay an extra $20 to check in early. That was no big deal. But this will come into play later. Went to my room. First room smelled like sour milk. Shower and room in general was dirty. Had to request a new room which was still pretty dirty. But didn't smell as bad. There were no apologies or anything. Just kind of a blah attitude. While I was getting my new room key, a man walks in (still early about 2 pm) he asks if he can check in now. And she didn't charge this guy a $20 fee to check in early. I know this because he asked. I mean, good for him but I think she just didn't like me because I interrupted her hanging out or whatever. So later that evening a man and woman is seen coming out of the first room we were in and my husband said "you moving out of that room?" He replied "ya it smells and its so gross!!"
This will be our last Wyndam. And tbh the owners responses are polite but this hotel is not a nice one. I think he says the right things but doesnt really do anything to change it. It's pretty unsanitary, run down, and needs some good...
Read moreReviews were mixed so we decided to book through Wyndham. We only needed to stay a night as we were passing through the area and it was right off Route 81. We arrived late, around 11pm. Desk clerk was rude and gave me a rough time because my address wasn’t the same as the address on my Wyndham account. I had changed my address a few minutes before I made the reservation and tried showing the clerk the address that was on my license. He kept saying that it was the right address, which I agreed, and I asked several time what could we do to solve the issue. He continued repeating himself and after 10 minutes of going back and forth, he gave me the room key.
We stayed in room 105... I asked for a nonsmoking room and as soon as we opened the door, the stench was unbearable. We were in the car for 13 hours that day and we just needed to sleep so we decided to stay. The room was absolutely disgusting. I do know how Wyndham can associate with such a place. There were cigarette burns on the furniture and carpet. The toilet had not been cleaned (thank goodness we had Lysol wipes). I wanted to call the desk clerk but he got me so upset with the interaction I had with him during check-in that I decided not to call.
We checked the bed for bed bugs but the stains on the sheets were nasty. There were two small pillows on the king size bed that we had to use our clothes as pillows. There was a family next to our room who blasted music all night. When we walked outside in the morning at 7am, there was a van parked in front of our room with people chain smoking cigarettes in the van.
I have stayed at many Wyndham hotels through work and on my own account, but this experience has be doubting if I should look into Hilton locations instead.
If you need to stay here, just expect it to be awful. Not just the room, but the customer service as well. Only good thing is the view of the mountains. That was...
Read moreToday my parents came in from Maryland. My mother is handicapped and requires a walker. We booked for a handicapped room which was not available when they arrived. The front desk women was so kind but didn’t know why the reservation didn’t have her booked as handicapped. She informed me they had no more available and wouldn’t have one available for two days. My parents were placed on the SECOND floor of this hotel that has NO ELEVATORS. What was worse. They only have two entrances for the entire hotel that worked. All others are OUT OF ORDER AND NOT WORKING. I requested a call back from the manager stating that it was IMPERATIVE! I asked if this hotel was corporate owned or franchised and at that point I was told this was a franchise. Since I still have yet to receive a CALL back from the manager to address this very serious issue and concern I had no choice but to call the Fire Marshal of Salem.
However; I won’t stop there. I will be calling the corporate Howard Johnson to also file a formal complaint as well as local reporters. It appears that the managers response to the poor reviews left here on google review are basically “we are so sorry for your poor experience here but go kick rocks”( please read them before you book here- big mistake on my part). One that I will not accept when a company is putting peoples lives in danger by staying open when they are not ADA Compliant or up to code just so they can generate money. Just so sad! At least I’m creating a paper trail here and following up with certified letters because if anything happens to them or anyone in the future.... I will make sure that they are the owners and Howard Johnson’s LIABILITIES! 🤬😡😡😡🤬 WHAT THE...
