If you're familiar with Schitt's Creek, then you probably aren't running to try fruit wines. Haha... but go here though — it's a great place! I had tried one of their wines at another spot and decided to go straight to the source. The person on staff was super knowledgeable and friendly. They gave excellent recommendations based on my preferences, which made the tasting experience even better. Honeywood has a large selection of wines, including their signature fruit wines, which actually turned out to be surprisingly delicious! I was really impressed by the variety they offer, they have something for every palate.
Plus, the location is perfect for a leisurely afternoon — not too crowded, but enough to feel like you're part of a great local community. If you’re in the Salem area and looking for a fun, welcoming spot to try something different, Honeywood Winery is definitely worth a visit. You'll leave with a new appreciation for fruit wines — and maybe even a bottle (or 3 in my case)...
Read moreAfter trying one of their wines we found at a Made in Oregon store, we decided to visit the winery since it is close to where we live. This isn’t much of a tasting room, but instead is more of a store with a few tables and a register where you go to order flights, glasses of wine, and small bites. The store had a lot of local souvenirs including punny wine glasses, coasters, and more. We didn’t notice they had small bites until we were checking out so we did not try them, but nothing stood out to us. We ordered three wine flights in total which were surprisingly cheap ($8 each). The list of wines you can choose from was long and included their fruit wines, roses, whites, reds, and seasonal options. Our favorite was the Currant Noir and we even bought a bottle to take home with us! Despite us being the only ones in the winery which made it a little too quiet, we had a great experience and will definitely be bringing our friends...
Read moreMy friend and I were in Oregon for a weekend and covered a lot of the area in that short of time! We saw a sign for this place and decided to stop by. We are not huge wine drinkers, so although this is a state known for their vineyards, we hadn’t planned a stop at one. Well, I am glad we did! We didn’t have much time, so were happy it wasn’t a huge area to explore- a tasting room and lovely gift shop. We tried a few of them- because I do like a sweet wine now and then. We took home a bottle of the Huckleberry, and also the Marionberry. We liked the Marionberry so much that I ordered a case that was delivered to my home in Wisconsin a month later! I wouldn’t have been able to haul that on the plane, so I do like the option of them shipping! I have included a copy of the brochure that was included in my box. This might take us a year to drink, but I’m guessing after that, we will...
