So yesterday was National French Fry day and they were offering free fries with any order on the app. That is honestly the only reason we went to JIB. Although JIB has been my favorite fast food restaurant since I was a kid, the last few years, the Salem JIB’s have been absolutely terrible. With the one in NE Salem being the absolute worst.
Anyway, we ordered their new mini chimi bang bangs, tacos, 2 snack wraps (one classic and one spicy), and a free large curly fry. Once again, the only reason we ate there. We get back home to West Salem and they forgot to give us our fries!!!
First the good… The new chimi bang bangs are so yummy. But they are super tiny and not worth the $3 for 3 at a $1 each. It should be priced at 5 for $3. But they are really good. The chicken snack wraps were huge for $3.29. We had only had them once when they first came out and they were super tiny and not worth the price so we never got them again. But we decided to give them another try and we were pleasantly surprised at the size. However, I got the spicy one which is supposed to have jalapeños on it and instead they had pickles which is supposed to be on the classic, not the spicy one. Neither of us are a big fan of the good good sauce, the regular or the spicy. If you aren’t a fan, you can opt to remove the sauce. I’m i’m sure some people love it. It has a sweetness to it that neither of us care for. We much more prefer Carl’s Jr.’s snack wraps with ranch on one and spicy Diablo sauce on the other. However, they are nowhere near as big as these were. But the real disappointment was in my favorite menu item, their tacos. It was very clear that the oil was old and it was so greasy. It literally gave me a stomachache as soon as I finished eating.
We used to eat at Jack-in-the-Box a couple times a week, but stopped doing that years ago after the food quality had declined over the years. I don’t believe it’s necessarily a Jack-in-the-Box issue as much as it is a Salem Jack-in-the-Box issue. We’ve eaten JIB many times in other cities and states and they’ve always been great. But honestly, I just don’t think we’ll be back. We’ve just given them too many chances and we are disappointed every time.
But the service was excellent. The only reason I gave four stars for the service was because they should’ve checked and made sure the fries were in the bag. But the customer service, itself, was excellent.

Read moreHalf my food was just fine, the other half of the order was messed up. Instructions on the shake - ignored. The order of fries - missing. The dips requested - wrong ones supplied. The burhers - ice cold meat. This is without the ruse behavior of the management. Even the employees were doing double takes at the guy trying to figure out what was up with him. I've never been there before, so this is likely how he treats everyone. After several attempts to get the order fixed, I chose not to make a scene and left the restaurant. Also, they have a big sign inside saying “No Public Restrooms”. I wanted to wash my hands before eating, but apparently this is not permitted for paying customers. The last Jack in the Box I visited earned five Stars for employees and food (four for atmosphere). I think I'm being generous giving this store two stars for atmosphere,, and one for service. It was middle of the afternoon when I arrived, and I was the only customer at the time with two cars in the drive thru. So no obvious reason for the rudeness, cold food and many errors on a mobile order they had plenty of time to prepare properly. Sadly, mgmt sets the tone for other employees to follow. As it was the mgr on duty whose rudeness and inattention to my order that made this visit so bad, it's logical that your experience will be the same. Jessica was high and unable to complete the order without giggling, so she handed it over to some dude who was rude and unprofessional. I repeated my order 5 times, they seemed unable to repeat it back accurately. I slowed down my speech and tried again and again, I just wanted to 2 junior jumbo jacks with no onion and extra mayo fries and water, not the most difficult order ever. They never repeated it accurately. They told me to drive up then were rude, yelling, and short tempered with me, practically hurling the drink at me. Disrespectful and unprofessional. I gave them an "out", I politely asked the dude if the speaker was cutting out and maybe that's why they couldn't hear me or repeat the order properly, he said NO! and offered no explanation for his bad attitude nor for his refusing to repeat the order properly. I was expecting them to have spit in my food at this point. I will never ever eat there again.
