After reading all the good reviews, I was looking forward to our stay at this hotel. Unfortunately our experience did not match the hype.
When we arrived, 2/3 of the parking lot was blocked off (it seemed to be due to repairs). That made for a very long walk hauling all our luggage. I understand the need for repairs, but I was surprised when we got inside, there was no "sorry for the inconvenience " from the clerk, no offer of a free cookie or some other token to show appreciation to guests for staying in spite of the parking mess (there are 4 other nice looking hotels on the same street). There was, however, not one, but four signs between the front door and front desk demanding that guests do not park in the restricted areas (that was already clear from the cones and all the caution tape throughout the parking lot, I didn't need to be told 4 more times with rude signs).
At the check in desk, there were SO MANY social distancing and mask signs. I get it, Corona virus. But the amount was excessive to the point of condescending, and they blocked the view of the desk itself so it was difficult to see where to grab a pen, slide a credit card, sign the forms, etc.
So incoming impressions were not good, but we were staying at this hotel to break up a very long, late night drive. All I needed from my stay to be happy was a good night's sleep. If that would have been possible, I really wouldn't have even cared about the parking and ridiculous amount of rude signage. Alas, a good night's sleep was not to be had...
To start, the noise - road noise (right next to the highway), car alarms, and people in the parking lot talking, shutting car doors, etc.) is loud and constant. We were on the second floor and it was still incredibly loud. The walls and floors are also thin - I heard people walking on the floor above us and talking on our floor throughout the night. Second, there's no chance for a comfortable sleep. The bed was so hard, and the springs could be felt against my back and heard when I moved (and I'm not overweight).
And finally, this was the last straw: when choosing this hotel, I opted against two other hotels because they only offered full beds. Full beds just don't cut it with two adults, getting bumped and jarred when the other moves throughout the night is a nuisance to me. So I booked this hotel specifically because their rooms offer queen beds (at least according to their website). Found out that was a lie - our room had full beds! Checking in at 10pm after a full day of work and many hours of driving, I was just too tired at that point to move to another hotel.
Housekeeping - most of the room was pretty clean, but our bathtub was gross (like maybe the housekeepers cleaned the room after the previous guest, but forgot the tub). In the morning at 8:50, while I was on a work call, I heard a knock at our door. I was just about finished with the call and was going to hang up and answer the door, but before I could do that, staff opened the door (I was thankful I had the slide lock engaged). Check out isn't until 11, but they were bursting in to my room before 9!
Breakfast - juices were barely more than colored water. I probably would have brushed this off, but given the dishonesty about the beds, I left feeling like it was intentional.
The room layout is good, and the a/c was decent, but that's really the only positive experience with our stay. I would not...
Read moreWe have stayed at this motel for many years. The reason that we have stayed here is customer service and the motel being an okay place to stay. We are now noticing some changes that have stirred away from the standards that this motel has held for many years. We recently stayed two separate stays at this motel. First of all, in the past, I have been greeted as being a choice hotel member. This did not happen on these two stays . There is extras as members that you get and being that I used my points this stay, I should have been offered up a snack instead. I had to ask for it. Now let me start out also by saying that customer service at the front desk isn't really there anymore with the exception of an outstanding longtime, employee Michelle. She has been with this motel for many years and always welcomes you as a friend to this motel. She is always smiling and willing to do what she can do make your stay wonderful. Thank you Michelle! Not upon checking in on both stays, the girl at the desk wasn't friendly at all. In fact, I think we were really putting her out for her to check us in at this motel. This isn't the kind of feeling that we used to get at this motel.
Now lets talk about the room #432. The room itself was big and clean however, there were some items that were broke in this room that were mentioned and didn't get fixed from the first to second visit. We stayed in this room both times. The heating and cooling unit was broke and either would get stuck on cooling or heating or wouldn't switch over between the cooling and heating. We mentioned this on our second stay. They told us that they would check into it.
On our visits over the years, we have been very pleased with the breakfast area being stocked up and being able to walk in and get yourself a nice breakfast. This time we showed up at 7:15 the breakfast starts at 6:00 and there wasn't any regular coffee left (I had to ask for some to be made up) and on the scrambled eggs, there was about 2 scoops of scrambled eggs for my husband and I to share. This has never been this way and it ended up not being a very nice breakfast.
On the first stay, the elevator was broke and should have been fixed by the time we got back on the second visit. Yes, we understand that things happen however, seeing all the other area that this motel is failing in makes up wonder if they just didn't stay on top of the required upkeep on the elevator.
Yes, we will try this motel again but hope that they change somethings and get their standards back up as...

The sinks are located right in the sleeping area, so there is no privacy when brushing your teeth, etc.|• Their shampoo and conditioner come in tiny bottles, and the hand soap is a bar soap. My friend left their body wash at home, so they had to use the shampoo as a body wash, which was barely enough since the bottle was so tiny. The hotel should consider switching to full-sized dispenser bottles attached to the wall. They do provide makeup remover wipes which is a nice added touch.|• My friend and I did not like the complimentary hot breakfast, except for the waffles and hash browns. The bacon tasted weird and the scrambled eggs were runny and in tiny bits instead of nice and fluffy. Although they likely use powered eggs, perhaps the cook should try using milk instead of water when making the eggs.||All-in-all I would recommend this hotel is you need to be near the airport and are only staying 1 or 2 nights in...
