This hotel not even close Market Square to the as the name implies, it is literally miles away. It is located in a real bad part of town that is right off the highway, next to a busy gas station. Check out the location on Google maps & notice the train tracks running right behind it - you hear the trains.
There are transients hanging around the gas station and twice when I was getting in my car, I was approached by panhandlers asking for money. To make it even worse, there is a train that runs right behind the hotel that kept waking me up throughout the night. Below is my terrible experience with this Days Inn.
I was staying at this hotel and went down for their complimentary breakfast in the morning. While I was standing in line, a mexican lady cut in front of me. I exchanged some words with her about cutting in line and explained to her that in America, it is bad manners to cut in line.
She said something back to me in mexican and I don't think she was telling me to have a nice day. She then went over to the front desk and started speaking rapidly in mexican to the manager on duty, another mexican lady named Alicia Sevales.
Alicia Sevales came to me and started giving me a hard time in front of the other hotel guest. Alicia Sevales never did ask me what happened, just started attacking me about saying something to the mexican lady. When I was checking out later that day, I told Alicia that I did not appreciate her talking to me the way she did in front of other guests.
She started arguing with me and I told her I was going to report her to the Days Inn corporate office. Later, as I was getting in my car, she came out and wrote down my license plate number and said she now had all my information and she “was going to have my car blown up". She also said she was going to call her husband and have him come over and "kick my ###".
I wrote a letter to the corporate office and they said I had to speak with the owner of the hotel since it is a franchised hotel. I called the owner of the hotel, Vivek Mehta, and also the manager, Gautam, and told them what happened. They both said they would call me back but neither one ever did. I guess they don't care that their employees are making threats to blow up hotel guest’s car.
Would advise anyone not to stay here as you maybe harassed by Ms. Savalas like I was and also because of the trains that run right behind the hotel throughout the night. Plus the panhandler at the gas stations next door hitting you...
Read moreI would love to give this hotel NEGATIVE stars! A million times over!!! We tried to book a hotel for the entire 2wks. we planned to be in San Antonio; however, this was one of 2-3 options. As it was closest to our son’s place, we chose this location. Immediately, our son said it wasn’t safe and we needed to book the 4-5 other hotels moving every few days because he really didn’t want us to stay there. WE SHOULD HAVE LISTENED!!! We arrived, and there were THREE police SUVs in the side parking lot. My husband & I looked blankly at each other and both joked that this was just as scary as our son believed it would be. I checked in, we were given room keys, and pulled to the side of the hotel....where all the police were parked. As we approached the room we were JUST given, the door is open, SIX police officers inside, gloves on, carrying things in and out, and someone’s belongings are still in the room. They saw us standing there, mouths dropped open, and told us we needed to go around. (They has blocked off the walkway, and had little evidence suitcases in their hands.) I explained that the front desk just gave us this exact room that they are in. Their response: “We’re going to be while.” What the eff? I went back inside & explained the room had an investigation going on. She told me she was so sorry, she thought they were done already. ??? I was shaking, explained I wanted a refund, and told her I was not staying a ANYWHERE on that property. She assured me their sister hotel, The Inn at Alamo was much nicer, even said safer. We had to get to the airport, so they sent info over & we went to grab keys knowing we would be back extremely late. The sister hotel was equally scary, if not worse. We checked in, were given keys, and left. Upon returning, after 11pm the room was next to someone having a very loud fight, and our room had a BLOODY HANDPRINT—both on the outside of the door, as well as the adjoining room door inside. I took pictures at both hotels because it sounds like something that couldn’t possibly be true! DO NOT STAY AT EITHER OF THESE PROPERTIES! They wouldn’t refund A DIME! Had to pay to stay in another hotel, disputed the charges after MULTIPLE trips to BOTH LOCATIONS which gave me the run around EVERY SINGLE TIME! No manager on duty, owner not at this property, didn’t have my correct card number to refund, etc. Each location sending to the other location on a wild chase knowing good and well they planned to rob me the...
Read moreFirst of all, I booked my room online For what I thought was The Inn at Market Square because that is what is advertised. A totally different hotel. It had 4.4 stars on the reviews and in the pictures it was a nice, clean hotel. It being at Market Square was perfect because we wanted to be downtown to where we could just leave our car at the hotel and walk around downtown and the Riverwalk. So, we put the address into the GPS and head to the place. The address brought us to THIS place. The Inn and Suites Downtown. First of all it's not anywhere near Market Square. We pull up and immediately are appalled at what we are seeing. A totally different hotel than what is advertised on Booking.com. This place was run down. The state this place was in was precarious at best. I go in to ask the person at the front desk if maybe we are at the wrong hotel hoping we are and she proceeds to tell me that there IS another, "The Inn" in the middle of downtown. Relieved, I head back to the car and try to find this hotel on Google maps. Every time I Google The Inn at Market Square it gives me the same address. Then I go to read the reviews from the map. Where it has 2 stars not the 4.4 stars it gives on the Booking.com site. I was horrified to find that this very same situation happened to many people. Also the reviews were painting a very scary picture of this place. I am surprised this hotel is still up and running. So now I am fighting to get a refund which is proving to be difficult because they are not cooperating at all. This is not the place that I believed I was paying for because the ad was for a totally different hotel. My receipt in my email even has The Inn at Market Square. Not The Inn & Studios Downtown. I didn't even ask for a key or even look at a room in this place because this is not what we paid for and there is no way I would let my kids stay at a place like this. There were what looked like, drug addicts and homeless people walking around there. There was a couple fighting at the entrance to the front desk. The lobby is trashed. Some of the rooms had broken windows you could see as you pull up. This is no place for kids. I just want my money back and to put this experience...
