Pleasant Inn — Hotel in San Diego

I stayed here for a week and twice a staff member has walked into my room without knocking when I was not dressed. I had my do not disturb sign in the door both times neither of them knock. Unless you like staff members letting themselves into your room unannounced then you might like it here since it happens a lot. I'm just a 20 year old girl and you have no idea how violated and unsafe I felt staying here. both times neither person apologized about walking in on me or left quickly they took there sweet time closing the door. The first incident was housekeeping I reiterate no knock and I had the do not disturb sign in the door. The second violation I was in bed not dressed around 7pm when a man who worked at the hotel let himself in. When I saw him I was speechless out of shock this happened twice he didn't say anything took a good long look at me and slowly closed the door. I immediately called front desk to complain they asked if I wanted a new room..no I would like your staff not to just let themselves into my room. The man at the desk said he'll make my keys the only one that will open the door.. shouldn't my keys be the only ones to open the door. I have never felt so violated and unsafe in a hotel in my life I will never stay here again if this was my only option I wouldn't stay here! I tried to talk to the manager three times about my incident and wasn't around or didn't answer the phone. I was so scared that someone would walk in while I was asleep or that they would rummage through my things while I was out since the staff lets themselves in when you have a don't disturb sign on your door. Very sad to write this review as we had been coming here for years and we were fine with it but unfortunately this will be our last time there. Front desk gave our room to another guest after issuing it to us earlier in the day. The other guests busted through our room door around 10pm when we're asleep scaring all of us and the kids who wouldn't stop crying. We're like what's going on why are you in our room and how did you get the key?! It was a total disaster. After that horrible experience, no one contacted us about the incident from management. When one of us went to the front desk, someone named Jason was very rude and took no responsibility for making a HUGE mistake. What if the other guests came when we weren't around? Our stuff would have been stolen. Offered 1 night off but the scare it gave us and security issues that rose from it, merited more of a discount than 1 night. Jason argued with us about complaining for a better compensation for the issue that THEY caused. They took no responsibility for giving the key to our room to other people. Jason got so mad that we complained that he "DNR" -ed us which I guess means do not rent again. Wow, what a business. Don't take responsibility for a problem YOU caused, then punish your guest for complaining by telling them to never come back. You guys are terrible. BE AWARE OF THIS PLACE. For a hotel im majorly dissapointed. Unless this is normal in California which would just be sad. I will list the pros before the cons. Starting with great room service, they do a pretty good job. The Rooms are clean and all towels are washed. The internet here is probably the best thing, never been able to game on hotel wifi before. And this location is close to a lot of eating out spots. Now the Cons. This place has no Microwave in your room, no kitchen even in the lobby, absolutely nothing to help you make meals. There is NO continental breakfast. There is NO washer and Dryer. False advertising majorly on this place, if you call they will say its a 3rd party picture and they are trying to fix it. Very deceiving. I was told to do my laundry at a nearby duds place, they didn't even have soap or anything. View isn't special, some peoples windows literally just face eachothers. Sound travels through these walls very easily, so expect to hear your neighbors untill they stop partying. Also next to a pretty main road so any sirens can be heard driving by.
