The single counter person was in the back for several minutes so tried using the kiosk. The kiosk is a big dirty android tablet running toast point of sale, on a very wobbly insecure stand so every tap makes it wobble, typing is especially bad. Ordered 12x for 20$ Macaroons, cannot select the flavors in the terminal.. so tried typing it but keyboard is terrible. Giant keys stretched horizontally on a huge tablet, no borders to clearly indicate which key you are typing (this is absolutely and option with google keyboard/gboard this uses), and worst othell the inactivity timer doesn't count the keyboard as activity so it kicks you out the terminal if you don't type super quickly on that wobbly giant tablet within ~20 seconds. Took 5-6 tries. And of course they still got the order wrong and gave lemon when it was specifically excluded, though they did fix it when brought back.

Toast POS has swipe/stripe, EMVchip/dip/insert, and EMV NFC/contactless/mobile wallets. Receipt is printed at the cashier side so couldn't get with the staff not present unless I reach over the counter. Receipt ink is very spotty and difficult to read, maybe why order was read wrong? (does toast not show orders on a big screen for staff?). No credit card surcharges, but somehow also no sales tax?s Toast should and maybe staff could:

1. Put bordered key theme on gboard for visibility
2. Use a more rigid tablet stand
3. Include any screen contact with the tablet for the activity timer
4. Tapping outside the inactivity timer warning should not just hide it and still kick you out, it should A) Count as activity and continue or B) Not hide the timeout warning
5. Potentially limit the size/width of the keyboard so it does stretch to be super huge.
6. If the option is available, flavor/style selections for multiple item orders.

Macaroons are properly done, unlike a surprisingly high number of places that charge similarly high prices but are disappointing. Only use the kiosk if you have a simple order & staff is present to give your receipt. Otherwise just order normally...

I’m really torn. Up until these past couple months, this place has always been my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE place to get boba and cookies! They are usually quick, friendly and everything I’ve ever had is delicious. However, I went 4 times between September 28 and August 25 of 2022 and NOTHING tasted good!! The cookies were stale and hard are rocks, and had a slight fishy flavor YUCK! I order the same drink every time -the fruity pebbles boba drink- but the drinks were carelessly made with the press lids coming off (which I didn’t see the first time until after getting in my car and spilling it on myself), and they keep tasting weirdly sour, like they used old or expired ingredients or something. Then to top it off, the people were not very polite, and I was honestly starting to feel like more of a burden than a welcome customer… I’ve never had these experiences until recently, which is why I’m giving 3 stars. A year ago it would have been five stars easy, hands down, but lately they haven’t even warranted 1. Just being open, isn’t enough. I’ve started getting my drinks and cookies elsewhere…. But I will keep trying in hopes that things start getting better. Train your staff to make drinks and food items the right way, and hire people with good customer service skills. I ordered an avocado bagel a drink and cheesecake. The drink came with no lid spilling over the side and then they advised me they only had hard avacados. So I decided just to do a cream cheese bagle instead. We'll I was not expecting there to be barely any cream cheese and the seasoning that was added (like an everything bagle seasoning) was almost so thick I couldn't see what little cream cheese there was. Maybe it's because I went in right before closing but regardless I don't see why make someone's experience negative. The bagle is so salty I honestly can not eat it and I like salt. I'm bummed because I go in often to get their cheesecake...I looked at the pics on Here and the avocado bagle barely has any seasoning sprinkled on it. So I kinda feel this was dona maliciously because mine has so much. i was also never offered the $1 difference from them not having the avocado.
