The food really shines here, I happened to sit at the counter next to the kitchen and the smells coming out were amazing. I wasn't feeling particularly adventurous at the time so I got the basic cheeseburger and an order of wings. I feel like if a restaurant can get the basics right, then the rest of their food should be good. The big burger came out neatly presented with a little branding on the bun, a nice touch. Fries were hot, pickle spear was cold, the tomato in the burger looked fresh. First bite was what I was hoping for, a cheeseburger. The bun was nicely buttered and toasted so it was slightly crispy. The patty was seasoned very well, rare to see these days. The chicken wings were seasoned, not sauced, and I like that for the crispness of the skin. The seasoning is lemon pepper and tasted great but it was a little salty. But that was made up for with the ranch which looked and tasted like it was made in-house. There isn't an actual liquor bar here, it's a beer and wine bar. Beer selection is good, I think about 10 different ones on tap and just as many bottled. Half of the draft selection was IPAs, typical for San Diego. Overall the experience was good. The place is very well lit, seats are comfortable, and the theme with all of the car parts and automotive memorabilia will appeal to gearheads. It wasn't too busy for a Sunday evening. It also looked like they only had one server (Aggie) working that day but she did an amazing job and was very attentive. I'll definitely come back to try the rest of the menu

Eat here now so you can say you were eating here "back when...". Best burger in San Diego! The longer version is below. Being determined to exceed the usual anemic gustatory experience, I came here to find a decent burger, but found the penultimate burger experience. When I walked in the door, my eyes feasted on the Moto-inspired decor that instantly boosted my testosterone. The bar boasts classic car radiators under glass and the back wall is adorned with the chrome model insignias with names of cars and trucks. I didn't partake, but the beers looked like a delicious array. The menu is worth the read with great creative names staying in the Moto motif. I had the American Muscle which is a half pound grilled burger with cheese. The burgers are hand patted fresh daily on fresh daily delivered buns from Bread and Cie. The buns are nicely grilled with the STP logo charred on top. The chef and owner has excellent bona fides from what I discerned in conversation at the bar. The brisket is s specialty and smelled amazing. I hear it's great. I'll be back tomorrow to try it. This is the type of place Clairemont and Kearny Mesa have been missing in my opinion. Forget Hodads and Rocky's and ACME burger. They really don't compare. Just come here next and come here hungry because the portions are ample.

Been seeing this place every time I drive home for the last few months. Finally got to stop in and check them out...WHOA!!! I regret not stopping in sooner. Anna is amazingly nice and a great waitress running things by herself. It has a smaller dining area but the layout is well thought out and by the time we left almost every seat was taken. Anna was serving and taking orders by herself and didn't even break a sweat. The food was hot and ready within 10min and was fresh. Kids meals were fresh and my picky eater claimed their burgers were the best ground beef he'd ever had! The decor is awesome and the tables are unique. It's basically like walking into a mechanic's shop with car related decor all over. Absolutely loved it and can't recommend this place enough. I will definitely be going back and plan on trying some of their on tap beers next time. Their ribs also smelled and looked amazing.

This was my first return back to STP since I last dined here pre-COVID. I had to write a praiseworthy review because I've never seen one server (Mary) and her chef, (Shannon) work so hard and great together that they solely handled a mid-day lunch rush (a packed restaurant mind you, without a free table in sight once we sat down; then when we left, there were several tables in their outdoor patio which had filled up as well) all by themselves. You might ask, okay, what's so hard about that? Well, they did it without rushing and were still friendly & polite as they took orders, brought out food, refilled drinks, bused dirty tables, or settled patron’s bills. Both Mary and Shannon did it with a smile, which complimented the DELICIOUS food served there. If you're in the Kearny Mesa area, and you want a burger, cheesesteak, salad or sandwich, please give STP a chance a try! I’ve never had a bad experience here. Again, we visited at probably their busiest, and we STILL received great service, and were very well taken cared of. Imagine if it was only half as busy... I had their Blown Head Gasket which had smoked sliced tri-tip w/ caramelized onions, provolone cheese, on a French roll (I didn't want mayonnaise) and crispy well done fries. I will definitely order this sandwich again! If Yelp gave six star reviews, I'd give them a six star rating just for the service I received from Mary & Shannon. Do yourself a favor and visit this spot! They've got some of the nicest and hardest working people you'll ever meet in the...

Was craving burgers and saw that this place had 4.7 out of 5 stars, Very deserving, if not more of that score. 5/5 for me Got the OLDS 442 burger, one full pound of burger meat in two patties, 4 kinds of cheese (American, cheddar, provolone, pepper jack), 4 toppings (lettuce, tomato, caramelized onions, pickles), everything a perfect burger needs, and like all their other burgers comes with the most perfect fries i've ever had. NOTE: Only get this burger if you haven't eaten for the day, an average person may not be able to handle the burger AND the fries otherwise. Forgot to take a picture because i inhaled it, plus i was eating outside which doesn't have the best picture quality. What was surprising for me was the quality of the fries, perfectly seasoned, both me and my friend were able to finish our portions before our burgers which i find is rare, i initially asked for onions rings but they didn't have any but i was still satisfied by the result, don't think of the fries here as filler! Would love to see STP BNG do an official kind of Poutine. As a whole i would recommend this place for burgers if you are particularly craving a good burger, the burgers are on the pricer end but are well worth their price, for their quality i'm surprised its not higher. Will be returning again and this next time i shall be taking some proper pictures, one day i shall be rating their Full Throttle Plates but this shall be my go to burger place whenever i'm...
