I was so happy to discover a place we could all eat since we are part gluten free, part soy free, part vegan. The service is polite and friendly but don't come in a hurry. I was really happy and would give the food five-stars, except the Vegan Pho. There is n=just no way I think to do it justice. Then I came once on a day when the owner, who is always nice and customer service oriented, was gone and a younger man was there. I had ordered a Thai Boba tea while I waited for my to go order. He would not give me the $1,00 special price even though I was drinking it there while I waited, okay fine. Then my daughter texted me she wanted one so I got another to go. But the problem started there. I noticed it had a skinny straw and I asked why he said that was the way it was. But I realized it didn't have boba in it. I asked him to put the boba, he said you didn't request it, and I said I have never had to before. He claimed he would have to throw away and waste the one I wanted boba simply added to. I said doesn't it come with boba he said yes, I said then why would you leave it out he said I didn't ask for it?? He kept doing this and I said that as a customer service maybe he should clarify for people when ordering. Meanwhile a lady quietly had come and added the boboa. I could not believe he rather stand there and argue with me after I told him I just drove all the way from work in La Jolla, all the way out of the way of home to come there. I didn't write a post then because I mentioned it to the owner later and I was okay. But today, 7-10-15 I took my daughter and her friend for the Pad Thai special $5, what a deal and the portions are huge! I double checked the menu but didn't read it with a magnifying glass because I have had it so many times. So I ordered 3, but then it comes with tofu which I can't eat and one kid doesn't like so 2 w/o one with. Then I wanted her friend to experience the vegan shrimp so I asked for a side of that please. It comes with people that came later than us as we were first ones there. It was delicious, we get gluten free and I ask for chili sauce or a nut sauce which costs another $!. We got lychee slushy, a ookie, Thai Boba Tea, it is adding up but so good. So what is the issue? I got the check and see I was charged $8.25 not $5 for my bowl. I was told by the waitress who didn't take our order ther owner did, that mine was "special" and i had to get tofu. Seriously? I have been before and not charger that since I pay $3.00 extra already for the shrimp so it has it's own cost and serioulsy, its vegan not a lot of work to cook it. If the logic is correct my daughters friend who asked for no tofu should have been charged extra as well. What I asked for let them keep the tofu, (profit) and charge me for vegna shrimp (profit) but instead of $8.00 I paid $11.25! At the register after I had already left the cash for the check, I double checked there was no mistake with the owner. He pulled up my check and as my teenger who is autistic is grabbing another $3 cookie I have to buy he says he can take fix the difference but I said I had already paid, and I need to get my kid out of there before she buys $50 in cookies and slushies.
They have been in business a long itme for a reason, the food is great and owner is uber nice but service is an afterthought. Just be sure to repeat what you are ordering and if it is a "special" check it is the orice you think it is. Next time I will order a side of vegan shrimp and share a bowl with no tofu with my daughter. I have enough hassels in life and the point of eating out is to NOT have them and have a break. I can't help that I cannot eat soy or gluten and appreciate the effort.
p.s. As a former waitress years ago, I am not even going into how long I have waited for someone to even take our oder as other posts have said. We have waited a long time, gotten water and 3 different people helping over hours with little or no refills on water or coffee or tea and it doesn't matter when you go. I usually go...
Read more⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Harmonious Ode to Plant-Based Delights! Sipz Clairemont is a transcendental journey into the world of vegan cuisine, where every bite imbues an experience of unmatched creativity and harmonious flavor profiles. A culinary sanctuary I've reveled in for the past seven years, it proudly stands as the best vegan restaurant I've had the pleasure of dining at.
The star of my numerous visits has always been the 'Nuts About Veggies'. This dish flawlessly showcases the innovative and exquisite nature of their offerings. With each bite, you're treated to a delightful orchestra of textures and flavors, where veggies are the maestros and nuts the diligent harmonizers. It's a unique melody that keeps you yearning for more.
My husband, a loyal patron of their Spicy Kung Pao, can attest to the sizzling allure of this dish. Bold and unapologetically fiery, this dish manages to marry heat with an underlying sweetness that is just plain addictive. The generosity of portions makes it a feast not just for one, but a dish to be shared and enjoyed together.
The empanadas, an irresistible fusion of culture and cuisine, are simply exceptional. Paired with their Summer Rolls - the epitome of freshness enclosed in a delicate rice paper wrapper - they make the perfect opening act to any meal. Each served with their divinely smooth peanut sauce that graces your palate with a rich and creamy dance.
One cannot overlook the sushi. Their creative approach towards plant-based sushi is not just admirable, it's an absolute delight. An edible artform that mirrors the ethos of Sipz Clairemont, embracing the essence of traditional sushi, while courageously exploring the limits of vegan innovation.
The crowning glory of each meal at Sipz Clairemont is, undeniably, the dessert selection. Of particular note are their decadent chocolate cupcakes that effortlessly blur the line between vegan and conventional treats. Their ability to enchant the palates of my "omnivorous" friends is testament to their universal appeal. Rich, moist, and brimming with chocolatey goodness, these cupcakes are an indulgent finale that leaves all diners swooning, irrespective of their dietary preferences.
The mastery demonstrated in their dessert preparation is truly remarkable, turning simple ingredients into delightful creations that are nothing short of culinary poetry. They not only satisfy your sweet tooth but also leave you with a profound appreciation for the versatility and immense potential of vegan cuisine.
Service is consistently warm, the ambiance is inviting, and the culinary journey at Sipz Clairemont is one that continues to draw me back, time and time again. If you have yet to discover the wonders of this gastronomic gem, I encourage you to do so without delay. The magic of Sipz Clairemont is not just in the dishes they serve, but in the compassionate philosophy they represent.
Sipz Clairemont is not just a restaurant; it's an experience, a story of love for plant-based cuisine told through each meticulously prepared dish. A chorus of flavors that sings to the heart of vegan food enthusiasts and curious diners alike. An unequivocal five stars from me.

Read moreLove this place! If you don’t eat me, but you love Asian cuisine, you’ll fall in love with this place too. So much parking, right off the 805, and a very large healthy happy fresh delightful menu. Order at the counter and take a number. They will deliver very very large portions right to your table. The place is large, but it’s not cramped. They do have some vegan pastries as well. Sipz He is one of those places that becomes a destination. You feel like having something and you know that you’re gonna get a good size portion, that it’s always going to be fresh, and that it will be piping hot and that you will be satisfied.
A friend originally invited me here and I really wasn’t sure what to expect. I’ve had so many of their dishes and while I’m not particularly fond of beef, substitute products, whatever they’re using works well.
Highly recommended and I almost don’t wanna recommend it because I wanna make sure I can still get a seat. But of course that would be selfish in a world where plenty of vegetarians and vegans want to find healthy alternatives to meats.
Price wise, I didn’t have any compliance, I’d say the average dish was about $15-$16. Each dish is easily shareable. They do serve brown or white rice.
Wonderful flavors and nice...
