We stayed here last night on our way home from Vegas. We had been staying at the Hyatt in Lehi before but the water pressure there was not great and so I never felt truly clean. So, we found this spot!
It's in a easy to get to spot, parking is a bit small on the front side but not bad. The lobby was clean and the front desk lady was very nice when checking us in.
The property is pretty big and the hallways are kind of dark. The elevator is kind of in a weird spot that you don't really see until you're right on top of it. But the rooms themselves have lots of lights and are a nice size, even just our basic room.
The rooms here have a full kitchen - full size fridge, stove/oven, microwave, dishwasher, sink. They have 4 person sets of dishes and silverware and even a colander. If you're here for longer than one night you're set! Theres a nice size work desk with chair and a sofa. Lots of plugs throughout and on both sides of the bed so you don't have to hunt down a way to charge your phone or laptop which even these days is sometimes hard to come by so I was very happy and impressed.
The bathroom was on the smaller side but the water pressure in the shower was pretty great. The sink had nice counter space.
The only downside is the bed. I'm always on the search for a not to firm or hard bed. I have a bad back and hips, arthritis in both. So a softer bed is helpful in not making me hurt even more than I already do on a daily basis. The bed here felt fine at first - not great but not horrible. But the longer I was in it the worse it got. My fiance isn't as particular as I am but even he said he was hurting by the time we got up. Neither of us slept great. So if you need a softer more plush bed then you might want to keep looking. If not for the bed this would be our go to hotel to use on the way to and from Vegas but sadly I'll have to keep looking.
The breakfast though was pretty good for a free breakfast buffet. Sausage, eggs, biscuits and gravy. Various cereals and toast plus a working waffle machine. The juice machine even had POG which I've never seen at a hotel before but was wonderful and not watered down. I love POG, but I am originally from Hawaii so grew up with it.
Checking out was easy, got the emailed bill pretty quick and the lady checking us out was also very kind. So overall this is a great property, it just depends on if the bed is a deal breaker...
Read moreWe first checked in on August 4, 2018. As we were moving to Phoenix to Salt Lake City for a job relocation, we had a trailer full of essential items as well as frozen food and refrigerated items that were emptied from our refrigerator that had to be loaded onto the moving company's truck. We had them all in coolers, but the hotel refrigerator was too small to accommodate everything. We had most of the frozen items in our standalone freezer, but it was too big and inconvenient for the room. We thought we would have to toss all of that food, but the hotel staff (Dave at the weekend late shift front desk and John in maintenance) helped us to find a place for the freezer temporarily. This saved us from having to toss hundreds of dollars of food. And later in our 45-day stay, as we needed to extend it, we were notified that the day of checkout and checking back in on that same day and the next day, was already booked. We would then have to contemplate moving our stuff out, along with our pet, for a few days, find another hotel to move into for those days, then check back into the hotel a few days later as rooms were available then. What would have made that difficult, was us having to find another hotel that allowed pets, while moving on a work day (I had started my job already), which was also on a day we had a new home walk-through scheduled. Not to mention renting a truck to move the items we brought over from another state into. It was a stressful moment for myself and my wife. However, my wife spoke with Bridget (7am - 3pm, Mon-Fri shift) at the front desk about our situation. Bridget then spoke to her manager and somehow was able to accommodate us. Her thoughtfulness saved us from having to pay extra for another hotel further from our desired location, having to move a whole lot of stuff into a truck and the stress of moving from the current hotel to another and back again. Needless to say, Bridget going that extra mile saved us from all of that. All of this speaks to the wonderful staff at this hotel (Residence Inn – Sandy, Utah), the hotel’s management and the brand. While we also stay at another hotel brand, my wife and I have decided that this is the only brand we would want to stay at going forward. Thank you very much Marriott for making our relocation to a new, and unfamiliar, city very hospitable and a lot...
Read moreWe have stayed here a dozen times or more and this last “vacation” in gorgeous Sandy UT lasted 25 days. We enjoyed every minute of it and there are a million reasons why. How about a daily complimentary pass to VASA Fitness Center (5 minute drive down State St.) or your choice of 2 hotel fitness rooms, one just off the main lobby with machines, a scale and plenty of towels. Next door is the fabulous indoor pool/jacuzzi. The second fitness room is in the annex building on the 2nd floor: more machines and free weights from 5-50 pounds. Again, loads of towels. The next door room is one of the 2 laundry facilities ($2 wash/$2 dry for 56 minutes)— the other on the 2nd floor of the main building. All of these are spotless and regularly maintained. In fact, you’ll see more housekeepers here than any other hotel these days. They are friendly like Martha B and eager to provide you whatever room essentials you desire. We must single out Maintenance Engineer Jorge for coming to the rescue with a minor electrical issue. The man knows his stuff, a regular Mr. Fix-It! Also so very helpful at the Front Desk are Renee and Wilma, always with a smile to help you out, and Night Man Robert who somehow manages to be cheerful even working into the wee hours (ditto, his weekend sidekick Nolan). Breakfast is a feast, each and every day (6:30 weekdays, 7 weekends), with self-serve coffee out slightly before. If you like scrambled eggs, you will love these — fluffy and moist, clearly made fresh. Breads, bagels, English muffins, tangerines and bananas are always being re-stocked. Each day is a different meat/sausage variety and of course there is also oatmeal with plenty of walnuts and other toppings. Two big pitchers contain fat-free or 2% milk. There are hard-boiled eggs and individual yogurts. The “Breakfast Ladies” here are some of the nicest people in the entire hospitality sector. If you like to walk, you are right across the street from Sandy City Hall with its lovely landscaping. Special thanks to AGM Alex and GM Jennifer who stay busy keeping this the best Residence Inn in America (our humble opinion based on nearly 1100 Marriott nights experience). They are here to make your stay a memorable one… and they...
