Had a room here here November 25-26. We live in town so we decided to do a little staycation for my girlfriends birthday. Selected this location because it has a pool. I had some friends coming over for dinner and drinks, I decorated the room and had it catered as well. When we arrived we noticed the TV didn't work. I spoke to the front desk and they sent the maintenance man to our room to have it looked at. He came and went three times initially to try to resolve the issue. He called the service provider and was asked to read the numbers on the receiver. He didn't have his glasses and asked my girlfriend to speak with them and read the numbers to the person on the phone. We were then notified that it wasn't working in the entire building. After this he left and came back two more times to try something else. Still working from my room that is decorated and has the food ready for guests. I went home and got my smart TV loaded with apps so I could still have something for us to watch. Unfortunately the wifi wasn't strong enough to power any of them. I notified the front desk and the issue was unresolved. Our shower was also out of shampoo but at this point I didn't care to have more hotel staff in and out of the room. In the morning I spoke to the front desk about compensation for all the trouble, I was told I would have to contact the general manager Adriana Cortes. I got her card and called her that Monday. I got the front desk again, told them about the situation and they said they would leave her a note about it and she would call me back. It's been two weeks and she has made no attempt to reach out or even apologize for my inconvenience. I have pictures of both TV's not working and the maintenance man in my room full of balloons that I would have loved to post but unfortunately there isn't a place to upload them...
Read moreWe just needed a night away and really didn't expect much. Having stayed in a lot of hotels recently (some high end) I have to say I was delightfully impressed. The staff was very cheerful and helpful, housekeeping even pushed the elevator button for us when they saw us nearing the elevator though they were not leaving the floor. The breakfast buffet was a great deal for pretty good food. The lobby was airy and welcoming with cookies, coffee, and wine and alcohol lists. Our room was clean and very quiet. I saw reviews about the freeway being noisy and I did not notice it at all, although we did have the fan on. The room was small but nice. My favorite parts about the room were the Keurig coffee machine (no other hotels I saw this year had that), the glass enclosed shower looks like you could enjoy a hot steamy shower without the hotel curtain drafts, nicer alarm clock than the stock hotel alarm clock and there is a microwave and mini fridge in every room which I did not have in most of the hotels I stayed in this summer. The dual air bed was ok, not my favorite but it did not prevent a good nights sleep. I loved that their check out time was noon, they have a little "pantry" for a late snack and you can tell they really care about their grounds and facility. To top it all off they have a satisfaction promise to do whatever it takes to ensure you're satisfied, or you don't pay GUARANTEED. I really appreciate and try to support companies that are moving back to customer service and going above and beyond to win a loyal customer base. They know that the value is in a satisfied customer, not a cheap room to the masses (the Stratosphere-YUCK!!!!)
Cons: the pool was out of order and the hot tub was body temperature. This is the only reason I did not give a 5 star review for the...
Read moreI rarely write reviews, but I absolutely have to about TANIA!!!! I am physically limited and have handicaps and have to travel with my husband most of the time to help. This trip I had to Go by myself, and this is always difficult and kind of scary for me Because of my physical limitations. The morning I was checking out I was struggling with getting out in time and packing my bags and figuring out how to get them back to my car when one of the gals from housekeeping knocked on my door, Tania, Spanish-speaking, beautiful angel??, I speak Spanish fluently myself and we began to chat. I explained to her I was delayed due to my physical limitations and she was so kind. She even went downstairs and got me a cart to put my luggage and brought it back to my room without me even asking, when she brought the cart up, I almost cried. She even put all of my bags onto the cart and went downstairs with me and put all of my luggage and bags into my car for me. I have to depend heavily on the kindness of strangers when I travel alone and hands-down by far was one of the kindest, sweetest, and helpful angels I have ever encountered. Thank you thank you, Tania Gracias, Mi Amiga. Not only did you make my task of getting my heavy luggage out of my room and into my car possible for me, but you also made what is typically a very embarrassing moment for me having to ask for help nowhere near embarrassing at all in fact, I feel as though I met a new friend. my family and I will forever and always only stayed at a Hilton Garden Inn from this day forward because of the kindness Tania...
