Not to sound like a shill for the place, but we really enjoyed our stay here. Truly. The hotel was in great shape, very clean. Amazing architectural detail in the coved ceiling and smooth walls. I've never seen that in a hotel. Kudos to the designer.||We were here for an anniversary trip, a detail I noted in my reservation request. Not only did they respond directly via email, acknowledging this, they also provided a bottle of wine and a nice note upon check-in. Again, great attention to detail.||Our room looked out over the front parking lot, but we didn't hear any undue noise. The room had a Juliet balcony, that was cute. Nice Andersen sliding glass doors. Another unusual quality thing in a hotel.||The bed was comfortable, and the air conditioning worked. It's a little strange - it's mounted/situated on the side of the room. Maybe it's a split-type unit? Could be a little more effective, but it's a small nit.||The included breakfast was good, European-style, with pastries and cereal. Cute back patio and entry/front room in lobby.||My biggest nit was the towels. With everything else so nice, I was sorely disappointed in the towels. They were either stained, not white, or looked like they'd been well-used. I mentioned this to the manager. He said they were aware of the issue, and were changing linen suppliers.||The location was perfect. Just a few blocks from Stearns Wharf and a nice walk to the busy area with restaurants and such.||Highly...

Read moreWe had a pleasant 3-night stay at La Playa Inn that we arranged through Booking.com. Check-in and check-out were very smooth. It’s not a large hotel, but our Room 102 was certainly big enough for two and had a small patio. Nice bathroom, daily housekeeping, Mini fridge and closet. (no microwave, but there is one in the lobby.) Great location to walk to the beach, State Street, the Sunday art festival, Funk Zone etc. we did a LOT of exploring, and after a waterfront walking tour and another tour at the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden, I certainly appreciated the comfy bed and smooth sheets at the end of the day! |There is a Continental breakfast provided in the morning. Coffee, juice, granola bars, instant oatmeal packets, some of the usual stuff, The sign said the baked goods are from Santa Barbara Baking Co. (See photo) the ham and cheese croissants were pure buttery goodness. Delicious muffins and the best chocolate croissants I’ve ever eaten. Better than Paris! You won’t have to search for the chocolate in these croissants. And the hotel put them out early so I was able to grab one more for the road before we headed home to Phoenix. Thank...
