✨Bookmark for your Santa Barbara trip✨ We stayed at @sbhotelcollection and traveled over Santa Barbara! Here’s your guide for what you see in this reel!! Also, on my website, you can get the full list of 60 of the bet places to go in Santa Barbara. Or you can subscribe and get 3 lists a month like that for 99 cents! - Stay at Brisas Del Mar: We were able to walk to Brophy bros from there + a ton of other spots, and other destinations are only 5-10 mins away by car - Los Agaves: Gigantic portions of genuinely delicious Mexican food. This is better than most spots you find in OC, plus the have a KILLER salsa bar with some of the best salsas I’ve had, and unlimited chips to go with it. - Brophy bros: when I asked where to go in Santa Barbara, this spot came up the most. Some people said it’s overrated, which tends to happen with the most popular spots but…I don’t think it was. Their clam chowder was probably my favorite I’ve tried to date, and if you get one thing, get the garlic baked clams. SO GOOD. - Cold Springs Tavern: this is a really cool one. It’s a tiny bit of a hike up a mountain, but it actually is only a 30 minute drive from Las Brisas. They are a stagecoach stop from 1868, and the property has been maintained as close to the original grounds as possible. The chili was particularly good - portions are huge. - Santa Barbara Zoo: we were so stoked on this zoo. It’s a smaller zoo with awesome exhibits where you can tell they really care about the animals. You can see giraffes, do an Australia walkabout, check out the penguins, and slide down the hill on cardboard. It rocks. - Blenders in the grass: I was told this spot is better than Jamba Juice and I really, really love Jamba Juice. So I’m not sure. But the price is better. It was $12 for our two drinks. - I have the rest of the 60 things to do on my website, and the part two with wine tasting is coming! Santa Barbara is less than a two hour drive from Orange County!!! I was shocked at how quick the drive was. Have you heard of these spots?

Great food and excellent service. Although it’s a tourist attraction, the prices are reasonable considered it’s a prime location in front of the ocean with spectacular sunset view. I love their clam chowder and steamed clams. My wife liked their clam chowder better than the ones in Pismo Beach. She told me the soup has more clam meats and very smooth. The steamed clam with wine broth is a dish to die for. The clams are gigantic and the broth is so tasty that we could have drunk the whole bowl of broth. The broth is great for dipping the breads. The two main dishes we had were fantastic as well. I didn’t expect the crab and shrimp salad came with big portions of the crab meats. I could hardly finished the salad. On the other hand, the blacken halibut came in a right portion. The sauce was delicious and the fish was tender and flaky. For a busy restaurant catering to tourists, they have done a good job on the food. Despite being a busy restaurant, we had great service from our server. She was attentive and kind. She checked on us frequently to make sure our needs were taking care of. We will definitely dine here again when we visit Santa Barbara next time.

Have been coming to Brophys since its inception in the early ‘90s, and always bring visitors here bc it’s just one of those quintessential SB experiences, like a Litos carnitas burrito. Anyways we’ve tried most everything on the menu-including cold apps like oysters and boiled shrimp, ceviche. We also love the baked oysters and clams and the amazing clam chowder, likely the best in town. Probably my favorite main is fried shrimp, calamari or fish and chips. Cioppino is a man-pleaser and chock full of seafood; you may ask to leave the mountain of Parmesan off, if you’re a stickler about the no-dairy rule with Italian seafood dishes. Most ppl seem to love the cheese topping. There’s nothing better on a warm sunny day than to dig into the food here as you gaze out over the yacht harbor, then to our lovely mountains and over to the azure Pacific. It’s always hopping inside and you’ll usually have to wait for a table, but it’s so worth it. Or do what we usually do-go between 3:00-5:00 and have your pick of tables, or better yet plop down at the bar where you’ll see plenty of action while you enjoy your food and drinks.

I have mixed feelings about this place! The fish and chips were some of the best I have ever had. The outdoor seating area is great and the views are nice upstairs. The service I experienced here was sub par for sure. I called ahead to see if let's were allowed since we were traveling through with our dog. They said no so we walked over to get takeout. Upon arrival I was told we could sit outside with our dog (not sure why they didn't mention that on the phone). I was told I had to go upstairs to be seated outside. I went up and waited in line only to be told it's first come seating outside on the ground level!! How frustrating. When we found a seat open up I grabbed the bartender who was walking by and asked if we could order with him. For whatever reason he said we had to go inside to order. I followed him in, ready to order, but it took him a couple minutes to address me. He answered a couple questions about the beer for me and I placed the food and drinks order together. Food wasn't fast but came in a reasonable amount of time. The fish and chips, as I mentioned, were amazing. Three pieces come in the entree but I ate one before I took the photo haha. When I went to pay the bar was almost empty but again it took him awhile to address me. I've worked as a server and behind the bar and I just felt the service was really poor all the way around. I wish I could give 5 stars because the food and drinks were great but service does go a long way!!

We were in the area enjoying the harbor and the shops and saw that Brophy Bros had a good accumulation of positive reviews so in we went. Had to wait about an hour to be seated because it was pretty busy but neat nearby shops so no worries. The dining room has a pretty great view over the harbor that can be enjoyed but a good selection of the seats and decoration is themed and tasteful so 1 point for that view. Admittedly it was a little busy this evening but aside from taking our orders and delivering food we didn't see our server and went most of the meal with empty drinks. Taking our orders was something of a trial as well. Numerous tables seated after us ordered and received food before we had a chance to order so it was a lengthy meal that ultimately didn't redeem itself with the food. I ordered the garden fresh salad with a cup of clam chowder. Previously I hadn't had clam chowder that was watery and flavorless but that has changed. It was called out as a specialty so I was surprised by the substantial short fall. The salad was ok, it was some leafy greens and a few chopped vegetables so not much to report. We consulted with some locals after our experience and found it's overall pretty overrated by their assessment and our experience didn't particularly surprise them. Rather unfortunate.
