DO NOT STAY HERE! I repeat.....DO NOT STAY HERE.
If there was a poster child for BAD SERVICE and complete disregard for the customer, this place is it.
I booked a one night stay here on my 23 day cross-country trip. I have stayed almost every night at a camp site from KOA's to privately owned locations and have had proper communication and excellent customer service at every one, but not here.
Firstly, you are asked upon making your reservations if you would like to receive an email with your campsite number, wifi log in and restroom codes. I clicked yes as I knew we would be arriving late (somewhere between 9-10pm). When 5pm hit and I did not have my email with the information, I emailed them and asked if they could please send my information. No answer.
I waited some time and then called the location. No Answer. I had hoped when I arrived the information would be there, but as I pulled up (following my GPS) I saw a closed up building (I assumed the office) with an iron gated door and no light and the only other light present was for the bathrooms, which were locked. I proceeded to call 2 more times. No answer.
I then emailed one more time to say I was here and had no idea where to go or what to do and could someone please get back to me.
No answer. So, at 9:37 pm, after sitting idling for 30 min waiting for help, we went next door to the Hampton inn and got a room.
In the morning, someone finally called back and very rudely said your check in information was at the office. I explained the office was locked up, dark and there was no information there. She kept saying yes there was. I said, I am coming there now.
What you find out in the daylight is that there are TWO entrances. This might have been helpful information to know ahead of time. Again, poor communication. The way GPS took me was the back entrance. The signage is TERRIBLE especially in the darkness of night. I was at the back door of the office, which had no signage to indicate to come around. The woman Louise who was rude on the phone had some semblance of understanding as I stood in front of her and explained what happened and that I was trying many many times to get help. She said I could take it up with Kathie the manager. That she would give her the message and she would call me.
Well, not only did Kathie never call, but she only responded after I emailed her yet again. She made it clear in the email that my check in info was there and that they are keeping the fee. No response to my many emails and my calls, no services rendered, but they get to keep the money?
It doesn't get more awful than that.
If you want your money taken and rude service on top of it, try to stay here. I should have listened to the many complaints mounting on the reviews.
Not only will I never ever stay here again, I will be sure to spread my story to all my friends in Sante Fe and ABQ and any website that will take my review.
20+ other stays this month, not one issue, this place should be embarrassed for its poor communication, and poor...
Read moreWe were a little apprehensive when we decided to reserve a couple of nights at this campground: Some of the earlier reviews were not good. Also, our experience with inner-city facilities has been less than great. We tend to go to use national park, BLM and State campgrounds and find city campgrounds noisy. Our apprehension was unwarranted.||||This campground is very well kept and clean. The campground map on their website leaves the impression it is packed. Not at all. When we reserved the slot we told the lady we used a popup and she put us on the far end from the street. Our slot was at least 2 blocks from the street. Businesses, fences and trees did a great job of filtering noise. The slots are well proportioned and the back-ins were easy to use. There is a nice playground and picnic shelter behind the parking area.||||The owners were very pleasant and helpful. They have one of the best campground brochures we have seen with a good map of the Santa-Fe area and lots of information on the local attractions. Shower/restrooms were very nice and clean. The showers were hot. The men's room restroom/shower had a washer and dryer; the women's side had two each.||||This campground has something we have never seen in forty years of campground use. Each slot has its own Rubbermaid trash receptacle buried about 1/3 into the ground—no hauling trash to a remote dumpster. A couple of very nice maintenance employees empty them every day and replace the bags. One thing I did see in previous reviews was placement of the sewer dumps and they do tend to be near the rear of the slots. We were fine, but I saw several bigger rigs that were using two or three extensions. Be ready.||||Criticism that the facility is unmanned overnight is true but not that bad. They do have an outdoor reservation desk and drop slot. They also keep copies of the previously mentioned brochures near the desk with all of the door and WiFi codes - the WiFi is quite good. Using a check-in booth is routine at most national parks these days.||||The campground is a little hard to find. Santa Fe sign laws prohibit signs near the curb. Their sign is about 20' from the street and hidden by some trees. However, there is a Penske rental business in front of the campground so look for a sea of yellow Penske trucks and you will see a RV Park sign on the side of the building. Also, there is a great red Hispanic food trailer about 1-1/2 blocks down the street that makes killer breakfast burritos.||||We would recommend this RV...
Read moreI give this a poor rating, rather than terrible. Terrible means avoid no matter what...this RV Park is not terrible, just not good. First, I was greeted at the door of the office by a large dog. The dog was not aggressive, but he was not timid either. I am not fond of strange dogs, and asked the man who appeared to be the manager to please contain his dog. His response was that the dog had never bitten anyone, and did not offer to contain his dog. His general attitude was somewhat arrogant. The new woman, perhaps her name is Judy, was very understanding, but did not know the area. However, she did make an effort to welcome me.||||The RV park itself is maintained, with a few residents who kept their trucks running for long periods before leaving the park, which was very noisy. ||||BUT, the main reason I rate this RV Park poorly is because the property is on a hill...so you can imagine the effort it took us to level our travel trailer so we could live in it for the two nights we were there. The following morning, it took my husband a long time to remove the lifts and get the trailer ready for departure. That was the first time in 5 years on RV traveling that our door would not open because of the slant of the site. No one needs this kind of effort when there are many half empty RV parks in the area to choose from.||||WiFi did not work, as others have stated. It's also a challenge to find the exact entrance...they do give specific instructions, but we were not made aware of it when I called for a reservation. I did hear the office person tell someone on the phone about how to get there, but did not do same for me||||The RV Park is about 5 miles from the downtown area of Santa Fe. That said, there are other RV Parks you may want to try before succumbing to staying at...
