There aren't many times when your expectations could not come close to your actual culinary experience. Going to this small, hidden gem was one of those moments. A friend had extolled the virtues of this establishment, but her words did not prepare me for the deliciously crafted meal my husband and I inhaled. We ordered the Roasted Poblano and Chicken Florentine crepes. My crepe arrived with the listed ingredients...carmelized onions and a perfectly roasted poblano (it actually had a little heat). My only minor constructive comment was the ingredients were not evenly spread, and the tomato and pepper existed on one side of the crepe. Every bite was a flavor explosion nonetheless. The bechamel type creamy corn sauce was so incredibly rich and decadent, you could not believe how good it was until you would take another bite. The Florentine crepe was packed with tender chicken with a similar white cream sauce; only minor critique was there could have been a little more spinach. We were supposed to share our crepes but we each thought our entree was the better one and proceeded to greedily eat our own selection. I ordered a latte afterwards, and it had a dark flavor, almost with a chocolate essence. This restaurant was also packed when we arrived with young families and couples (excluding our middle aged selves)...a very good sign indicating a delicious meal. Crepas Oh!!!!!!!! should have a few more...
Read moreI have eaten at this unique restaurant multiple times after getting a recommendation from a friend. I will start by saying that the crepes are fabulous! Good coffee and some of the other breakfast offerings show imagination and a wonderful blend of New Mexican and American flavors. So, the food is a wonderful reason to visit.
The service, however, is extremely unreliable. Each time I have visited there has been a failure on the staff’s part to show any consideration for our party. Only once was the volume of the business a reason. Multiple times we were overlooked as a party came in after us was greeted, offered drinks and a menu. Twice ( out of four visits) we have had to go to the counter to request service. Most recently, on Friday, August 5, 2022, with a party of three and perhaps four other tables occupied, we received the same service. This time the server came to our table after we had received our meal , and asked if we would like more coffee. Ten minutes later, no coffee.
I have spoken to the woman in charge once about this and it doesn’t seem to have helped. So if you enjoy being ignored, please go and have some wonderful food. Be prepared to be disappointed with...
Read moreThis was an unassuming little cafe-like restaurant that had one of the best services I could ever ask for. The two ladies at the front were on point! From seating to the time the drinks and food were brought out was prompt.
Our family shared a Breakfast Crepe with Chorizo, Ferni’s Crepe, Nutecrepe, Choco Crepe, and Strawberry Shortcrepe. Every single plate was devoured. From savory to sweet, not one dish missed a beat!
Our server always stopped by to check on us and was so receptive that at one point, I looked up to ask for an extra plate and she already read my body language. After she took care of another customer, she came over immediately. She always cleared an empty plate and never left our table without something in her hand. I love little details in service like that that shows hard work and thoughtfulness.
Needless to say, I was impressed. Also, she was so sweet to my kids. Nothing is better than when you start the day off with great food and...
