My partner and I recently stayed at the Portland location. The location is perfect for visiting my son, a student at the University of Southern Maine. You are about 20 minutes outside of Portland, with easy access other coastal Maine attractions.
The good stuff: The kiosk check in is a breeze and will even print your key card. No need to stand in a line at the front desk. Very clean *If you are staying for a long stretch (we did not) there is more than enough room for storage.
The grows: *We checked in at 8:45 PM and our room was NOT ready! Even though the kiosk allowed us to check in, we opened our door to find sheets balled up at the end of the bed and an uncleaned bathroom. After our long drive, this was disappointing. We did end up going for a bite to eat and the room was finished when we got back after 10:00 pm. *The bedding leaves a lot to be desired. There is no comforter on the bed, just a top sheet and blanket. The sheet were not soft in the least and the pillows were super uncomfortable. We were on the first floor facing the front of the building and the parking lot light shown directly into our room. The blinds were adequate but were not light blocking. The property only puts a small bottle of shampoo and one bar of soap in the room--that is all. I normally pack my own toiletries, but because this was a short visit I thought I was use standard hotel issued toiletries....no such luck. Luckily, Walmart is across the street. There is not ONE hairdryer available on the property. Not a big issue if you don't regularly dry your hair. I asked at the front desk and they did mention that they do get requests for hair dryers, but it didn't sound like they were going to get one anytime soon. *The self-serve coffee machine in the lobby was not filled or working all weekend. This was disappointing because there is no coffee maker in your room.
Would I stay there again? Maybe, now that I know what to expect? Honestly, for $50 more a Holiday Inn Express has all of the above amenities and my room is always ready that...
Read moreThis is a very nice and brand new hotel, it really smell and look like new. All rooms are equipped with full kitchen appliances including a full sized fridge. We found the hotel through an app but when we google it the hotel it does not show it on the map, just an empty lot instead, so do not hesitate and trust the site that it is offering the deal. We booked it for $ 130 the night but when we arrived the lady in the front desk told us it was $ 100 the night instead, so it was a win win to find this hotel. It is a pet friendly with a $ 10 charge and they do not serve breakfast but across the street there is a shopping Center with lots of restaurants to choose from or Walmart if you care to buy your food and cook in your room, I will tell you that the room does not have pots or pans to cook and I do not know if you have to request it since we did not Cook there or use the microwave for an easy Cook , the dish washer has couple of plates and bowls and some silverware and that's all. The room has no iron and no hair dryer but hopefully in the future they add all the essentials that a normal hotel room has, since they just oppenned. And last but not least there are Charger Stations for your electric car. Good luck with...
Read moreSo Many complaints. We showed up at 415 today, check in was supposed to be available at 3. When we arrived one of our 2 rooms werenât ready (they also seem confused as to the fact we had 2 rooms booked). They said it would be ready in 25 minutes, this time passed and went and to check in with the front desk. They are saying to wait another 30 minutes. Itâs 2 hours past when they are supposed to have the other room ready. The âreadyâ room had 2 towels for 4 people. No soap and the bathtub knob was backwards. We asked to refund some of our money for the wait and they said âour manager isnât here and youâre only staying for one nightâ. Just terrible service all around to be paying 300/ nights/ room.
Update: itâs 8 and they said they gave away our king room to someone else. Never even contacted us to let us know it was ready before they gave it away. Iâve never been to such an...
