Easy access with plenty of parking, diagonally across the road from the Scarborough Walmart. They open late (maybe around 3:30) most days, so check before you go. We visited on a Saturday mid-afternoon and the place was packed with a 30 minute wait. They send you a text when you are up so that's nice. Then they kind of show you around the steak case where you can pick your own, but just tell them you've been there before to skip the tour. On your way to the table they will tell you to grab a bag of peanuts if you want them, which is very casual. We sat in the bar booth area and were quickly given rolls with a cinnamon butter by our server "Tim". They used to let you throw the peanut shells on the floor, but I never thought that was a good idea so I never did it, but Tim explained that we could just pile them up and he would clean them up as needed, which is a much better way to do it. He explained the steak cuts and answered any questions we had. Really good dude and he was very attentive to our needs. The view is just of the inside of the restaurant which was casual and pleasant with warm lighting, but you didn't strain to read the menu. We started with a couple of Margaritas at $8.25 each and they were tasty. Like every other bar, they don't skimp on the ice (if you know what I mean), and you can add a kicker for a buck or two if you want a better drink, but I thought the regular house Margaritas was decent. Back to the rolls, freaking soft, hot and delicious and while I normally just like plain butter I found the cinnamon butter to be fantastic and I would go back just for the rolls. My wife got the Chicken Critter Dinner for $14.99 and the chicken rivaled any others we have tried, crispy yet juicy and they give you more than you can eat. Highly recommend this dish. I got the 1/2 slab of ribs and it was plenty for me as well. I will say that, while it was delicious, it had to be eaten with a fork as the meat fell off the bone too easily to pick up a bone and eat, but it was very good. We also tried the house salads, loaded baked potato and the steak fries and all were top notch and very good. All in all, I was extremely impressed with the efficiency of the employees at the Roadhouse. The manager (Michelle?) stopped by to check in which was nice, but the speed of service was quite impressive, especially for a packed house. The drinks were served quickly, we never ran out of rolls or water and the food was fresh, delicious, and right out of the oven hot. It was like watching a finely tuned orchestra perform Mozart, all the parts were in sync, great crew of people. The prices were very reasonable in my view as well. I would not hesitate to return to the Texas Road House in Scarborough and you will enjoy your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo my daughter and I and my grandson decided to go out to dinner we live in Scarborough Maine so he said letās head down to Texas Roadhouse and see what we can do there so we went into Texas Roadhouse on October 10, 2024 prior to going in I went online to reserve a table or put us in the rotation. I guess it said to me on the text message that we would be 10 minutes to let them know when weāre there when we got there we ended up waiting about 25 minutes And I certainly understand there was some tour buses or whatever that came in. I had to go back up to the hostess three times to say look itās been 25 minutes now itās been 30 minutes now itās been 45 minutes and the app said that it was gonna be about 10 to 20 minutes so they finally saw us which leads me to really this review. We all ordered our dinner and we told the waiter how we would like our steaks cooked. My daughter said that sheād like to have hers done medium rare and this steak came out and it was like it was raw literally raw. The waiter even said oh my gosh thatās like raw so he said keep your side dish which was a mashed potatoes And Iāll bring this back so he brings it back and about 10 minutes later she got her steak and he said, could you do me a favor and cut into it and just make sure itās right well at this point the steak literally looked like shoe leather. It was burnt and it was absolutely horrible to the point where she couldnāt even eat it now the manager came over and she said I am very sorry that this happened. I want to give you a coupon for a free entrĆ©e when you come back What really upset me most was that was great that she came over and apologizing and gave us a free coupon, but she shouldāve took that meal off our bill and she didnāt and thatās whatās leading me to this review because I was I left there super disappointed number one that my daughter couldnāt even eat her dinner and by the time she got it her side dish was ice cold the potatoes And we still paid for that dinner and thatās really what pissed me off. On another note, we sat there after we got our dinner my daughter and I and my grandson and we had another person with us. That was eating dinner as well and the waiter never came back over to check in and see how things were going. Can we fill drinks up again nothing zero and you know what I left there and I saw it to myself. Why did I leave this guy the tip that I left them because I left them a normal 20% tip he didnāt deserve even a 5% tip with the service that we got this was just the absolute most horrible experience we couldāve ever ever. Had. They have a lot of work to do at Texas Roadhouse in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTried to go there for dinner last night. Joined the waitlist on the app and was told a table would be ready at 6:05, about an hours wait. Got there early and found out just how crazy busy they were. Got a text that the table was ready 20 minutes after the promised time. Then had to wait while at least 5 other tables were set in front of us. Was brought to the table only to find that the highchair that I requested was nowhere to be found. First, they tried to give us a tall highchair for the end of the table which would have been perfectly fine except there was absolutely no room at the end of our table for said highchair and to allow someone to walk by. I questioned this and was then given a high chair that goes in the seat in the booth. This solution while not perfect as this type of highchair actually puts the child far too high up in the seat have would have been good enough except after several minutes of trying to figure out the buckles we realized one strap was completely missing. I asked for a replacement and then a few minutes later the manager showed up. Gave some story about how the straps get broken all the time and whatnot. After far too long of a conversation talking about this she promised to get us a new table. By this point, it was nearly 45 minutes after the time we were promised for our table. At this point out of pure frustration, we left. The worst part was the table next to the one we were sat at was available when we sat down and it had plenty of space for a highchair at the end of the table without being in anyone's way. This is not the first time this type of thing has happened to us at this restaurant. I really thought this type of thing would be fairly common sense to not sit a group of people with a highchair somewhere that doesn't really have room for a highchair but now it's clear to me that the front of the house staff really needs some additional training. I also don't understand why so many restaurants insist on giving out high chairs with broken straps. If the story I was told is true and they are ordering new ones every week you'd think that like a 100 pack of straps would get ordered so that a replacement would always be on hand so that a small child can safely sit and eat in your restaurant. I was very much looking forward to eating here all day yesterday and now I'm quite certain I'm...
