I would NOT recommend staying here for safety reasons. I learned by talking with the staff that the front desk was with the Hotel and NOT the Hostel. I asked who was there for the Hostel and they handed me a business card with the bphostels website and actually said that they know I will have trouble getting an answer from the hostel. I even asked about liability- what if something happens in the room- he shrugged at me. There is NO staff for the Hostel on site.
I paid the extra amount for a Female preferred room. When I checked in I went to my room of 8 bunkbeds, and 4 men inside. I went back to the front desk to inquire about the other beds, and they explained that there was 3 more Male names set to check in between then and 2am, and that they could not move me since they were full that night. I asked what was the point of booking female preferred if I was the only female and I even saw other women walking around so why was I not with them. 1 girl out of 8 is very unsafe. I understand the hostels are shared spaces but the front desk was very unhelpful. They said I should book a hotel room. (the hostel is Inside a Hotel)
While I was deciding what to do, I watched a man leave his room with a shirt with obscure wording on it, and come back with a woman who we can assume they did not know one another... I know that the building staff cannot control what all guests do, but this was very uncomfortable. While waiting for front desk to be free again I got a bloody nose. It was dripping on myself and the floor! The staff did not even glance up. I asked where to get a tissue they said "go to your room" I was actually appalled and the walk was 1-2 minutes down the hall to my space.
I did end up booking another hotel room but a Marriott far away from there since I did not want to give that front desk my money.
Rooms - I put 4 stars because they actually looked very nice. They had lockers for each person and a fridge and shower room with a door that locked. Knocked -1 star because they advertise room to put luggage but if you are on the top bunk you have to put the luggage underneath the bottom bunk and share the space.
Service - 1 star, see my reasoning above. There IS NO Service!
Location - gave 3 stars because it is good place in PHX area but hard to find since it is in a hotel. I had 2 Uber drivers get confused. Just something you have...
Read moreThis is decidedly NOT a hostel. It's a money grab. They take rooms that a less than stellar hotel can't manage to sell, shove a bunch of bunk beds in there, and charge WAY more for 1/4 of a room than 1/4 of the cost for a single room. There are no activities, the staff are not friendly, and aside from the torn, dirty chairs by the pool the only place to hang out on site is in the "guest lounge" which had the leftover, filthy, barely useable furniture that they removed from the "hostel" rooms. There aren't even any chairs in the room, nor a table to eat at (despite there being a tiny kitchen in the room). There is nothing walkable about this place as it's out in suburbia so you definitely need a car. If this is a representation of what all Bposhtels are like, I recommend everyone RUN as fast as you can away from this place. It says a lot that after you check-in, they email you a coupon for 40% off your next stay at any other location. That's the only way I'd consider staying at another, and even then it's not...
Read moreI stayed as a solo female traveler and felt safe in the mixed dorm—roommates were respectful. Beds were comfy, but no top sheet was provided. Lockers are available with provided locks, but they aren’t very secure, so consider bringing your own.
Nice pool and hot tub! There’s a small kitchen area but no seating. The hotel is under new management and not directly affiliated with Bposhtels, so the front desk couldn’t give me a receipt and had to call a manager to help with a double booking.
Not close to downtown—you’ll need Uber or Lyft. Locals hang out here for the pool and are very friendly. Good fishing nearby if that’s your thing! Disc golf course next door as well. Overall, a decent stay with...
