We had a lovely room on the second floor. We were a group of 11 adults, breaking up into 4 in a room (2 bedroom suite). It was thoughtful of the resort to place our three rooms across the hall from each other, making it easy to meet for coffee or drinks in each of our kitchen/living rooms. The decks were also wonderful to gather, private and large with a table, six chairs and two additional chairs with a side table. Down the hall was a very large room, with a ping pong table, multiple tables and chairs and was a perfect place for all 11 of us to eat, drink and be merry. The lobby is so warm and comfortable....fireplace, sofas, puzzle table, multiple chairs - very homey.|The rooms were are completely furnished, plenty of dishes, silverware, microwave, stove, dish washer and full refrigerator. One bedroom had a king bed and soaking tub + shower, the second bedroom had a queen bed and tub/shower. |We used the grill located on the grounds one evening, and also the fire pit! |They are close enough to walk down the gentle hill to Sister Bay to shop, eat or...
Read moreOn the plus side the room was spotless when we arrived and the pool was super warm, which I love.
But on the negative side, the plumbing in this place needs some serious upgrading. We had a two bedroom/two bath Unit and one bathroom was totally useless. Ran the shower for five plus minutes and it was just barely lukewarm. The sink faucet sprayed sideways when trying to use it. Even in the "good" bathroom the water took forever to get warm and the water pressure was awful. It also screeched at times.
While we couldn't hear people in the rooms next to use, the hallway was awful. There was no way to walk without making a ton of noise and the kids yelling and running up and down the hallway starting at 7am woke me up even though I had TWO white noise options going. My husband mentioned it to the front desk staff and was told there was nothing they could (or planned on) doing about it.
Seems to be a big family place, and that's great if that's what you're looking for, but if you want a quiet getaway, try...
Read morePheasant Park is a great resort for families. The rooms are very spacious and beds are comfortable. Each room has a living room and kitchen as well which was very helpful with making some of our own meals during our stay. The indoor pool and hot tub were also fun for the kids. The resort is also a 2 min drive from downtown Sister Bay. The staff there is also very nice. They neatly arranged my son's 20+ stuffed animals nicely during their room refresh - haha! They had a nice board game selection for families to play too!||Why I didn't give it 5 stars? The resort was clearly built in the 90s and hasn't been updated significantly since. The pool and hot tub were also a little dirty as well and could have been cleaned.||Not hotel related but visiting Door County in the off season like we did had very limited activities. I assumed it would be limited but was very surprised with the severe lack of dining options and shopping. If you plan to visit from Jan-April I'd plan on just staying at the hotel the...
