I just returned from a weekend of playing shows at Stabbur Beer Garden with some dear music-making friends during Sister Bay's Marina Fest 2019—so this review is not only from the perspective of a patron / beer-drinker / cocktail-imbiber / food-eater, but also as a musician and guest of the Stabbur staff. And let me tell you: If goats on the roof are any indication (and they are), this place is a magical wonderland of good vibes and top-notch hospitality. I have played far too many shows at which I am merely an inconvenient shadow-person, viewed by employees & patrons alike as an annoying guy carrying around a tambourine. And in many ways, that's fair and hauntingly accurate. But at Stabbur, they treated us like royalty. Went to Stabbur today. The food was OK. The turkey and brie sandwhich was good but the beef tenderloin sliders, not so much. Also, the line for drinks was a little long, but not too bad, or so we thought. So my husband got in line while I went to the bathroom and then ordered food. I did all that, the food was ready and I started eating because my husband was still 4 people back from the front of the line! It really was not that long of a line.
