Stayed here over the weekend. Booked a cottage. Was pleasantly surprised at the size. Was not expecting a full kitchen. The location was great, right on Main Street Jamestown. Water pressure was great, amenities in the room were great. Clean. TV was large. Bathtub was large. Decent coffee pot. Full sized fridge. Nice lotions and soaps in the bathroom. The cons though- $140 for the night but no continental breakfast. That was an extra $15. The furniture was very flimsy Ikea-ish. The futon couch in the room was not comfortable to even sit in, broken down in the middle with a huge dip in it. The mattress was not very thick. But comfortable enough. The bedding was good though. We didn't have enough cream and sugar for the coffee. Only 1 pack each. The only things I really didn't like, the parking in the back of the building is really tight. Not easy to turn around. Lots and lots of wires and cables running all over the property hooked up to security cameras. We open up our front door and there's a camera pointed right to our door. Also- no black out curtains. When that sun hit the blinds- it woke us up when we wanted to sleep in. The property also had a feel of being low budget due to all the construction items/ garbage laying around. And there's broken down vehicles parked in the back where guests could be parking. You need to park on the narrow main street or across the street in public parking which is gravel. All in all- not bad. Just wished for a little cleaner property with no homeless looking people around. Ps. Pizza Plus next door is amazing for dinner and all the shops on Main Street are...
Read moreJust experienced a very rude and unjust expense with the woman with dark hair. Prior to my reservation on Priceline , I phone the hotel and asked what is your pet policy as I have a service dog. He promptly stated oh it’s fine we have other dogs here as well. I also asked would he prefer me to complete my reservation in person or on the app. Reply was the app. Upon arrival I was greeted warning by the older gentlemen, however he was not able to find my reservation, stated new computer program and called for help. The nicest older women also apologized but after quite some time couldn’t find it, or the lady’s behind me in line. They just gave us keys and said come back in AM. Which I did and this dark haired woman had a problem with as I am a local, she stated “all of us locals do this”. I asked her not to judge and catorgorize me? She made an statement backing it up and I told she is entitled to her opinion. I explained the events which led me to coming in and she was hell bent on charging $50 fee for service dog. I told her I will promptly dispute it as it says that nowhere and I had called prior to reservation. 20 minutes go by while she working on computer with my credit card and I’d. She produced several paper unledgable due to low ink, and indicated places for me to sign. No dollar figure anywhere! I question this, she then prints another unreadable paper that only shows room charge. I sign it just to get away from her to prevent any disrespect. I wasn’t given copies either. Then she starts saying oh room deposit. I almost flipped. All these charges I didn’t agree to nor indicated on...
Read moreWorst hotel I have ever been too. I will no longer be using hotwire "hot rates" due to this particular occasion. My wife and I would have walked out of this place had it been refundable, and I am very disappointed in myself for having spent $75 here. The staff was about the only good thing about our stay. Where do I start... the rug flooring was littered in stains, which matched the mattress cover and pillow covers nicely I guess; this complimented the lumpy bed very nicely. Ah, now in bed I look up, and what do I see? The air vent and fan CAKED in dust, they've been neglected for many a year it seems. Thankfully the room (not equipped with AC) was cool so we didnt need to turn the fan on.The bathroom was verrrryyy cozy, you have to stand in the shower or atop the toilet in order to close the bathroom door, at least there was hot water right? There was a spider crushed into the wall, and the sink was stained and gouged out by who knows what. The TV was the only modern accent to the room, and I could hear several neighbors enjoying their programs. I didnt think places could operate in such a state in this day and age, mountain town or not. Cost of maintenance must be very low, I could be wrong though (the building might be falling apart, it looks like it's been around awhile.) I would check out neighboring towns and drive a little further and pay a little more. I read on a review "you get what you pay for" and this certainly isnt the case, red roof, super 8, motel 6, would have been amazing alternatives. TL;DR DONT GO HERE, KEEP DRIVING. I'm really not the kind of person to write such...
