Extremely disappointed in service. It would have been 2 stars if Roxy hadnât stepped in and saved the day, but she wasnât even my server. My server forgot about me multiple times. Waited forever just to get coffee. Iâm a slow coffee drinker and was waiting several minutes for a new cup before Roxy checked on me and I was able to get a second cup (not free refills Iâll add).
Iâd like to mention that there were maybe 4 or 5 seated tables in the entire place. For 2 servers, 4 tables is nothing. Yet Roxy had to keep checking up on me because my server was not. I had to wait so long after being seated to get a coffee that I nearly left. Roxy stepped in just before I did and made sure I had coffee, offered me crayons for my little one (who was getting very restless by now), and got me all set and then told me to wait for my server. So Roxy went above and beyond to do her coworkerâs job and if she could have received my electronic tip, Iâd have left more.
I will say however that the food was excellent. Note too cooks: Iâd use a different sausage in the biscuit gravy - the sausage in there tastes like hot dogs. Otherwise, the corned beef hash was amazing and clearly did NOT come from a can! A+ to the cooks! I wish I hadnât ordered something so heavy on such a hot day though. Their A/C was either out of order or nonexistent and I was getting crankier the longer I sat there. I overheat easily these days with no A/C in my car and had to get back to my room so I could cool down and yet it took 20 min+ to get my check after we finished eating. Overall, not a good experience. Thank you Roxy for being amazing, but I doubt Iâll be back unless I...
Read moreWhat a sweet little gem of a place. Just driving by we decided to stop in. It was a Tuesday morning dine in. Not too busy but there was a steady flow of people. Our server Lolly was patient and accommodating as it was our first visit. I took a chance and ordered the stuffed French toast. Normally I am always disappointed with this type of dish at other places but the smoke cafe hit the mark on what Iâve always expected this dish should be. Beautiful presentation. Not overly sweet cream filling. Fresh delicious fruit and it didnât need maple syrup. My partner ordered the egg benny and hash. It was delicious as well and not too heavy. đ¤đ˝ great work chef! Excellent service and table attentiveness. We will definitely...
Read moreGlad to see the Smoke restaurant open again. Jamestown needs a larger selection of restaurants. However, the Smoke Cafe is no longer a Mexican restaurant. It is a traditional cafe restaurant. They serve burgers, breakfast platters, sandwiches, etc. My Girlfriend and I picked up a Reuben and a French dip sandwich for lunch. Both were awesome. I have been trying to find a good Reuben in Tuolumne county and I will definitely be going back again. My girlfriend also loved the French dip. I look forward to trying out their breakfast...
