My husband surprised us with a beautiful weekend and our very first stay at a Bed and Breakfast. It’s been almost 2 years and I’m still disappointed and disgusted with how we were treated. Majority of our trip and stay were excellent, the check in could’ve been better, no one was present, no one would answer the phone and it was late and dark. We eventually received service, and my husband provided updates that we would be coming in later than check in. When we arrived we were given a brief tour and shown where we would sit in the mornings for breakfast. My husband bough a couples/anniversary package worked hard to plan out every detail, including getting the massage, chocolate strawberries, champagne (I think) and fresh flowers as part of the package. The most disturbing point of our trip came every morning. When we arrived downstairs for breakfast there was a woman sitting at our special table, closest to the beautiful windows with gorgeous views of the park, we were surprised and confused and confirmed we should have that seat as was told to us the night before, however the lady was not moved and we were told to sit in a corner. When asked why the situation wasn’t being addressed because my husband planned and requested that seat specifically, we were told, “well, the owner thinks she will have more of an effect on the business, if she’s upset” therefore implying that we didn’t and no one would care that we were upset. The next day she sat in our seat again and again instead of moving her they moved us to a separate room completely, still not at the table we plannedc requested and bought the special package to have. The third day, yes we stayed 3 nights!!! Everyone was gone and that’s when we were finally told sorry about the issue. This has been almost two years. I know what the owner of the b and b meant by it would hurt his business, he didn’t value our dollar like he did hers and yes she was and yes we are. I will only go back to speak my mind. I held my tongue for almost two years but can’t do it anymore. Their behavior was disgraceful, and disrespectful and I wouldn’t ever look to return, however I look forward to trying other b and bs and receiving the service and care we pay for because we work hard for our money and expect the same treatment as everyone else. To this day I’m upset for my husband and how this trip and our anniversary 2023 will always have a stain on it. Thank you. Pictures show proof we were in South Haven, it’s a very cute town and we enjoyed...
Read moreTruly, there are no words to properly express our experience at Inn at the Park; we knew we were in for a treat when we entered our room to freshly baked chocolate chip cookies! From the stunning atmosphere to the generous staff, this is a hidden gem in a special city. This Inn is adults only, so it was the perfect place to relax and spend a lazy afternoon. Check-in was slightly confusing. We arrived around 5pm and no one was at the desk. However, everything is thoroughly explained in your confirmation email, so just be sure to watch for those details. THE FOOD!!! Breakfast served at 9am is DELICIOUS!! It’s beautifully served and a filling start to whatever adventures await you in the city. The room & common areas were clean and welcoming. The outdoor fireplace (front) and water fountain (back) made for calming evenings outside. IF I were to find a drawback, I’d say it’s the location. The city is super walkable- it’s a 20 minute walk from Inn at the Park to the lighthouse and downtown. The 3 minute walk to Dyckman Beach is easy! However, Dyckman Beach is super small compared to North Beach. So if you’re looking for a shorter walk to North Beach, check out the sister property of Inn at the Park: Waters View Inn. Same owners, same superb service, slightly better location. Thank you so much to Bobby, Josh, Kevin, Kim, and the whole Inn at the Park staff for making our trip something to remember! We will...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed here for a quick one night getaway for our anniversary. It can be challenging to find a bed-and-breakfast that allows a one night stay at a reasonable price, and we were happy to find both in Inn at the Park. Hopefully we weren’t loud, but we did not hear the other guests and noise wasn’t a problem. We loved the Jacuzzi tub, and it was walking distance from the main strip in South Haven. There was a mix of age ranges of couples staying there, and it was very cozy and homey! Breakfast was great and the hosts were very kind. We had booked the Juniper room and ended up being moved to the Sycamore room, and were given a bottle of champagne as a thank you for the switch. The Sycamore is much larger and cuter in person than I originally thought from pictures online, so hope this is a helpful tip for others looking to stay as well! We found the room a bit warm but were able to crack a window and it was very comfortable. Very comfy beds and we wish we could have...
