The first few days of our stay were decent enough. The room we stayed in was very dated, but the location was convenient for getting to both hiking at Zion and restaurants around town. However, a few days into our stay, we say 3 roaches in our ground floor room (2 live, 1 dead) within 24 hours. In addition, there were a bunch of large roaches out by the pool area. We spoke to the front desk, and they called us back within 5 minutes to offer a new, "upgraded" room on the 2nd floor (there are only two floors) of a different building on the property. We were very grateful for the quick response, and we got the keys to our new room.
Upon entering the new room, we did see that the room had been updated/recently renovated. But when we entered the room, we found THOUSANDS of bugs on the drapes. It looked like the drapes were completely covered in live bugs. We immediately took a picture and went back to the front desk to see what was going on. These bugs were not simple "no-see-ems" that die in a few minutes (they appeared to be unopened moths or something like that). Either way, no one from the staff seemed to have bothered to look at the room before allowing someone to check in.
The manager was very unapologetic, and she basically said there are roaches and gnats everywhere and that they do their best to address them. The manager said our only options were to take the new room with the thousands of bugs on the curtains or our original room with the roaches, and she would spray around our original room. The only other option she provided was to cancel our reservation for the rest of the nights and leave us to find accommodation for the remaining two nights (including a Friday night, which would have been difficult last minute). The front desk staff knows they are booked up because there are only a certain amount of hotels in Springdale and did not seem interested in making this right.
This ruined our stay in Zion, and made us feel very uncomfortable staying at the hotel. We had to leave all of our belongs in our car because of the fear of roaches getting in our bags. I have stayed in hostels with better levels of cleanliness and customer service than this hotel, and at over $300 per night, I expected...

Marty helped check us in, he was delightful and made me feel so welcomed and taken care of. We recently experienced a great loss in our lives, it’s hard to even write. But Marty, and the Driftwood Lodge made our healing journey so much easier, and that was our intention in coming out here away from all the busy hustle of life. Slow down. Peace.
Our room was fabulous. I believe we stayed in 423. The balcony was Huge, looked over the pool and insane views of the mountains. The stars at night from the balcony were humbling.
We loved the Keurig coffee machine in the morning with real creamer pods, it’s a small thing, but a big upgrade from normal visits with packaged powder creamer and gross coffee machines. Waking up and having a nice coffee on the porch was a huge highlight.
The hot tub was open late till 10pm, so that was very nice. If I had one critique, it would be to switch up the lighting for the pool. For such a classy place, the lighting was terrible and not relaxing at night. The stars were so bright, but the bright lights of the pool were distracting. The rest of the establishment had nice orange-hue lights that were peaceful, this was a bright yellow light. Not a big deal, but I’m a light guy, so just a thought.
Beds were very comfortable. If you like thick pillows you’ll prob sleep well. I prefer very thin pillows, so that was something I had to get over as it’s very hard for me to sleep well with thick pillows. I was so exhausted though it was easy to fall asleep. I’ve stayed at hotels that provide both thick and thin pillows, just a thought moving forward.
Take advantage of the breakfast vouchers for Oscar’s. Although not free ($8), it basically came to about 50%+ off, and it was AMAZING breakfast.
THANK YOU driftwood lodge for the most amazing experience. We will come back here 100% when back...
Read moreRoom service never came to make our room or bring the iron we had asked them to bring before we left on our day long hike in the morning. Not really nice to come back in the evening, after a tiring day, to find your room not made, ESPECIALLY when you paid $259/night for your room! When we stopped by the reception to let them know, the employee didn't apologize and just said "well my computer says the iron was brought to your room and that you asked for no room service". When we told her no, there's no iron in our room and we never ask for no room service, she didn't apologize and insisted that that's what it said on her computer. She was rather rude. The next day, we talked to the manager, who apologized, and gave us a $20 discount on our 2-night stay. I thought that was pretty weak... I would give them zero stars, but because the bed and pillows were excellent, I'll give them 1 star. But that was the only thing that was impressive in our room - well, that and the view (if you looked up at the mountains, because the hotel grounds in this area were not landscaped, it was just dirt). Also, the room was clean. Very expensive for an average hotel. Average because there's nothing special about it other than the view and the bed. No breakfast, no spa, no extras... I was expecting more for the price we paid. Without the room service incident, I'd give them 3 stars max. It feels more like a...
