I ordered a to go meal. Right off the bat it was 17 dollars for 4 tacos with a side of rice and beans. The rice and beans lacked flavor, and the beans were not standard beans you would expect from a Mexican restraunt. The meat was too fatty and lacked flavor as well, there was only one tortilla for the street style taco and the tortilla tasted rather raw instead of cooked, liked it wasn’t seared with enough oil or for long enough. Additionally, the salsa verde and red salsa that came with the tacos were both flavorless and not spicy enough for my liking. The customer service was very good but the meal for 17 dollars wasn’t up to par with other Mexican cuisine. Of course, Springfield isn’t known for good Mexican food like Austin Texas or Tulsa OK, I would say this is subpar compared to other Mexican cuisine in the area, with my biggest concern being the flavor of the food. I enjoy Mexican cuisine and was excited to taste it but was underwhelmed. Of course I’ve tried a lot of Mexican food and I would this restaurant is a 3 star, right in the middle of the road for Springfield. I hate to write a negative review for a mom and pop shop but I was disappointed, just to be honest, especially at this...
Read moreHonest review. For preface. Im from california. I went here with very low expectations. I found the hot sauces to be veey cali style. The meats were good too. I had the adobada tacos. Above avg. Better in pork than beef in my opinion. I also had the torta in al pastor. Above avg. And the asada burritto. Also abv average. Cant compare with my favorite of king taco in los angeles. But this is better than amything in dallas t x where i live now. If i lived in springfield missouri i might come back weekly. Also the.hot sauces were very california style rather tham tex mex. I highly recommend this place. Also value for food is good. The interior atmosphere is very bland. All in all. 4 of 5 stars. Thats better than most places ive rated in...
Read moreThe tacos were great. I had a chorizo street taco and a steak special taco. Both were excellent. The veggies, guac, and beans on the special taco were fresh and delicious. It also came with a freshly made tortilla that was great. The salsas on the counter were really good too.
The menu on the board is all Spanish. They have an English menu taped to the counter, but it's still not exactly clear what they have unless you are familiar with Mexican types of meat and food. This isn't Taco Bell.
It's a cool, minimal atmosphere. The tables and chairs are flimsy metal, just like you would want in a place like this!
I will definitely be back. Highly...
