The Victorian Fox — Hotel in St. Charles

The Victorian Fox exceeded expectations for my group! There were 11 of us coming into town for my buddy's wedding and the hosts here were super accommodating! They left us charcuterie cups, donuts, personal soap/body scrub samples, and were available often if we needed any information or help. The house itself is gorgeous. Victorian is the right word to describe it, but it was updated in all the ways that mattered practically and tastefully! The house is situated VERY close to downtown St Charles, so our group made a couple short walks there to explore, grab a meal, or find a fun bar. Our hosts also went out of their way to make an itinerary of recommendations for us while we were in town! They've partnered with a couple places where you can get a discount if you mention you're staying at the Victorian Fox. We were only there for a weekend, but we packed a lot in and had so much fun. The only way the experience could have been better was if one or two of the king beds (which were super nice and comfortable) could be transformed into two twin beds, since one of our group's singles had to sleep on the couch downstairs. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Victorian Fox. The owners have thought of everything! The decor is so well done and makes you feel like you've stepped back in time. The kitchen is well equipped with all the things that you'd need. The first floor is very open with a large dining table that would be great for sharing a meal with a group. We chose to stay in the Baker bedroom and loved looking at all the vintage photos of nearby Hotel Baker. The blackout drapes in the room kept the light out better than any other hotel room we've ever stayed in. The location is perfect! It's within walking distance of the river as well as many great restaurants and shops. We made a reservation at a nearby restaurant and enjoyed walking home. Amidst walking into this beautiful home, I was immediately transported to Victorian times. This home was so thoughtfully decorated,from the door handles, to the light fixtures, to the personalized room names, the tranquil backyard, I was just in awww and had to explore.
