Worst bar I have ever been to. No exaggeration, this is the worst bar experience I have ever had. Wife and I stopped in for a quick drink and bite before a concert. There were 2 bartenders working and maybe 6 customers at the bar. One bartender was chatting with a group of 4 at the corner who she may have known and making cocktails for just them. We sat down and were not greeted by anyone for at least 7-10 minutes. Not the biggest deal, but we did not have menus the whole time and the tap list is not visible anywhere. A couple sat down directly next to us a few minutes after we sat down. When the bartender finally came over and greeted us, the couple next to us ordered one drink and got one of those tablets to gamble on. They came in to eat and knew exactly what they wanted, they said. The bartender did not check back with either of us for nearly 15 full minutes. By this time, the couple lost their money on the e-gaming thing and were done with their drink. The couple's wife told the husband to get the bill and not to tip. She walked out.
We ordered a whiskey neat (terrible tap list) and some cheese curds. The bartender serving us asked the other bartender working how to make my drink. The cheese curds came before I got my whiskey poured into a glass. Cheese curds were super greasy and tasted bad. Not real cheese curds, just cubes of low-quality cheese, deep-fried. We had no napkins/roll-ups and no bar napkins anywhere on the bar either. So we're stuck wiping our hands on the greasy wax paper.
The bartender left the bar to chat with the host, then they both went into the back for about 10 minutes.
The manager was hanging out by the service well, doing literally nothing. They didn't check on guests, staff, make or run drinks or food.
Overall, we were there about 40 minutes to order one drink, one app, and wait on the check to arrive. 3 visits from the bartender over those 40 minutes. We will never be back.
(Note: I have worked in bars/food service full-time for over 10 years so I am very tolerant for...
Read moreThe best part of my experience was being greeted by the host right away at the front. We had to wait at least 15 minutes at the table before a server even greeted us or anything. When Hunter finally came she said it was backed up and it was not busy in there at all. She walked past our table at least 4 times before she said anything. When I was in the middle of ordering she put her hand up to me and told me to “hold on” as I was in the middle of asking questions. Then she added in that there was multiple questions that came with the order (when I have been there before and I knew the questions being asked, so I was going to tell her exactly what I wanted instead of her asking a bunch of different questions). After she took our orders she went to put it in and she continued to point and talk to her “manager” about our table. All of the drinks came out expect my lemonade which took about 20 minutes to get. I had to ask another server who brought out shakes for 2 others at my table. Then when I heard her tell my server hunter that she needed to grab my lemonade I could hear her say “oh”. Right after she brought out the first bunch of drinks we saw her just standing and talking to her coworkers but they were “backed up”. (This was before I got my lemonade) The food started coming out which didn’t take as long as I expected, but the appetizers came out maybe 1 minute before the rest. The food was okay. I’ve had better there before. When she brought out our bills she had it messed up and took about 10-15 minutes to run the cards. Another couple things. She never said thank you when we were done there, she only said thank you or responded to a select few at my table but continued to ignore me as I said anything. I have been a server for 4+ years and I completely understand how it goes but I have never been more disappointed in a restaurant, this has been one of my favorites in the St. Cloud area and I will never go...
Read moreMy Gluten-free facebook group recommended this restaurant because we heard the owner's grandkid had celiac and the staff was trained to place orders carefully. We appreciated that there was a separate menu, which indicated safe items to order.
We ordered (kid gf burger & fries, steak fajita salad, hot chicken sandwich, ribeye tacos) and waited a long time for our food. My kids started eating but I couldn't eat my my fajita steak salad without a fork. We had no silverware on the table. Our server left and we tried to flag her down multiple times. When she came over after I waved her down, I asked for one, and our server left and forgot about us. I had to flag her down to ask AGAIN. Kid#2's ribeye tacos were disappointing; meat was old, dry, stringy and under-seasoned. The corn tortillas were bland. I would have ordered her celiac fries, because the celiac fries were quite good, but our server ignored us. Kid#3 asked for no bun, and she was given a gluten-free bun. She had one bite and then just ate the burger only anyway. Kid#1 had a good burger, but was disappointed in the cheese curds, which were huge square blocks of cheese. They didn't seem like curds. It seemed like they took a huge block of government cheese and cut it into cubes, and then battered and fried it.
When I finally got my fork, the salad, which was dressed in a too-sweet dressing, already had soaked through, leaving a puddle of sweet syrupy salad dressing on the bottom. The steak was alternately burnt and raw, which was surprising since it was shredded meat, not a flank or skirt steak. I found a manager and asked for a quick meal - since we had an event with tickets that we did not want to be late to. I got a disappointing side salad, and they had the nerve to charge me for it as well. Yes, they did take off the original steak fajita salad.
Overall, a...
