Food was okay, but service definitely needed work. We were greeted and seated right away by our waitress. She took our drink order and brought it right away. We weren't quite ready, still looking through the menu as it has been a while since we've eaten there and there were some new items. Took almost an hour to come back to our table to take our order. She repeatedly stopped at every other table in the section and would walk away before getting to our table. I'm not sure if it was because we were at the end, or she got distracted and forgot to check up on us. People who came after us both ordered and got their food before our order was even taken. Once we got the food it was fine, no issues. Same as any Perkins I have been to before. Perkins is usually pretty consistent with that, but the service to me was odd. She dropped the check off when she dropped the food off. She came back once to refill drinks, but otherwise never check up on us or talked to us despite stopping at other tables multiple times. I don't need a babysitter, but at least having some service faster than that or getting checked up on if we need refills or something would have been nice. I wasn't expecting breakfast to take and hour and a half. Not sure what was off that day. For future, I will probably just order something right away and not bother reading the menu or...
Read moreAfter we were seated, we were asked what we wanted to drink. It took quite some time to get them and they were incorrect but they fixed it.
I ordered country fried steak with eggs and my son ordered chicken tenders with both sides being fries.
This took a very long time to get. My son stated the chicken was a little dry but manageable. My pancakes were quite enjoyable. On the other hand, the steak was utterly disgusting so I sent it back and ordered the build your own breakfast to include ham which I generally do.
In the meantime, I ended up in the bathroom thinking I was going to puke. Fortunately I did not but when I came back out my food was waiting for me.
It took some time before I could pull myself to take a bite. Partially because I wanted my stomach to settle and partially because the ham looked burnt.
In fact the ham was burnt and quite dry. When the waitress came back to see how it was going I let her know.
Luckily the manager compt the meal as I refused to eat it. Normally I like eating at Perkins, they do have good pancakes but I will not be returning to this one...
Read moreI love Perkins. But this experience was not the best. Not just for me and my family but for other guests and workers. While sitting at the table closest to the kitchen, we heard someone yell in the back "Are you Gay?" I was offended because that's no one's business. I asked the young lady at the til was that a customer who said that to her, she stated it was from the staff in the kitchen. I asked to speak to a manager because. My table and the surrounding table all turned in the direction of where the question came from. When I asked our waiter about it, he stated "that was the manager asking the cook. They do that all the time." Still not acceptable. Especially when so many cN hear you and you never know who is in your presence. When I spoke to the manager, an associate of Perkins, and with my family staying by as well as the closest table, the manager totally dismissed us and turned to walk way. When mentioned that we heard it was a manager, she got embarrassed and walked away. I was offended. And embarrassed for everyone there. I think there should be a bit more sensitive. ...
