Let me start off by saying that I am probably one of the most easiest person to please and I don’t really require much. I originally booked a three day day at this location. The main reason for this day was a year ago today I lost both my mother and my aunt a day apart from each other , and my living situation drastically changed due to issues beyond my control so needless to say I was in much need of a little staycation just to clear my mind. I found this location was kind of off to beating path away from everything so the idea to just be able to get away from everything for a few and have a mini retreat with epic. ||||Upon checking, I asked if I could be upgraded due to being a gold and almost diamond member. I was advised that they may be able to upgrade me one day, but they didn’t do upgrades for multiple days because they would lose out money that way. Being a member and staying at multiple hotels I’ve never heard this, but I said OK. I was also advised that this location which stated it had an executive lounge doesn’t really service it Friday through Sunday so there would be no hors d’oeuvres or anything, but it would at least be stopped with snacks and drinks. Again, I was unaware of this, but I took it. After I got to my room, I went to the executive lab to find it empty only for them to say that they should be stalking it later that day. Then I decided to go to the hot tub to try to soak only to find out that the hot tub was broke Again kind of taken away from the main reason I went to this location, but I understand things happen. I then went to eat dinner a little bit later only for the food to be extremely below average for a Hilton standard and the service was to be honest lackluster at that. If the hotel was full, and the restaurant was full, I can be very patient but when they only five people there and the servers are nowhere in sight it makes it a little bit difficult when you wanna get a refill on a drink. At this point, I just went to bed. When I got up the next morning, I went down to see about breakfast and there was nobody in the restaurant, but it was open so at that point, I went to try to get some breakfast only to find out after I got it. There was a 1795 for the breakfast buffet. Again, this was not told to me when I checked in and there was no sign saying that there was a cost. Oh, in mind you I went up that morning to see if they actually did restock the executive lounge and of course it was just as empty as it was when I checked in the day prior. At that point, I counted losses and checked out early.||||I would say that this is very disappointing for a Doubletree brand. Again, I’m not being nitpicky however, this was far below the state that I expected, and to be very honest after reading the reviews and saw that other people felt the same way I should’ve viewed my better judgment and stayed elsewhere.I love the Hilton brand and it’s very disappointing. I also would advise other people unless you’re there for one night just to get on a flight you may want to find another place if you want an enjoyable...

Read moreI would have provided a 3 star review had the hotel manager responded to the email I sent on July 23, 2024 regarding issues with the hotel shuttle. My husband and I were provided a room at Doubletree Hotel Airport - Sterling June 29th-July 1st through United Airlines due to extensive flight delays. Our flight departed on June 30th at 10:30 pm, providing us time to explore DC on June 30th. We took the hotel shuttle to the airport so we could catch the train to downtown DC. While we were on the train returning to the airport, I called the Doubletree Hotel and asked when the next shuttle would be arriving at the airport. We were told that a shuttle should be arriving at 5:45 and 6:15 roughly. I informed the attendant that we would be at the shuttle pick up area shortly before 6:00. At 6:30 when the shuttle hadn't arrived, I called the hotel and told them that we have been waiting for the shuttle for over 30 minutes and asked if a shuttle would be arriving soon. At this time, we were told that a shuttle had just picked up passengers and would be coming back in the next 30 minutes or so. Due to our need to go back to the hotel and pick up our items so we could once again return to the airport for our flight, we were unable to wait any longer at which point we called an Uber. Once we arrived at the hotel, we spoke to the attendant on duty about the shuttle issue. We were informed that the Doubletree shuttle had broken down and that a replacement shuttle had been brought in from Homewood Suites. We informed the attendant that we had seen this shuttle as we were waiting but had no way of knowing this was the Doubletree shuttle since we saw no sign for Doubletree and the driver did nothing to inform waiting passengers that he was from Doubletree. The attendant apologized and encouraged us to reach out to the manager and request for a refund for the Uber we had to take. In the email that I sent to the manager I provided a photo of the replacement shuttle which was labeled with a different hotel's name, and how the only way to identify that it was serving as a replacement for Double Tree was an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper that was underneath the windshield wiper (in no way visible to waiting passengers). Hatice Meral never responded and this is why I am posting this review and only providing 2 stars.
Additionally, only our way out on our exploration of D.C. the hotel attendant informed us and 4 other passengers, who were on their way to catch a flight, that we would have to wait for the next shuttle because the shuttle that just pulled up was going to take 4 girls to the mall first. I was completely confounded by why priority would be given to those going to the mall over those needing to...
