Booked my Room the day prior to my visit from their Website on Friday for a Saturday check in..
I travel often, and have purchased many hotel rooms for myself and for my kids.
I have mixed feelings about this Hotel.. the stay was Nice.. pool was nice accept we couldn't swim the last day of our visit because they spend over 2 hours cleaning the pool.. I consider that just bad luck. Not a knock on the hotel..
The one knock I have with my Stay is they set smoking/Ash tray trash Bins right out front of then entrance and at all times someone is standing right next to the door smoking.. if you're sensitive to smoke you'll have to smell the strong odor almost every time you come and go... even though California State law mandates smoking must be at least 20 feet from entrances and exits To me.. im not sensitive to smoke it was just more of an annoyance then anything I won't fault the hotel or staff just terrible placement of said ashtray...
Rooms were nice well kept.. good overall experience that I would say I would definitely be back again until I call 2 days later about my bill...
The first lady I spoke with was pleasant and helpful and couldn't answer a couple questions so she had someone call me back..
This call back is what why I will never stay at this hotel again...
The Lady explained everything to me perfectly fine.. I had no issues with what she was saying... she did say they do not ever charge the card on file UNLESS you don't show up.. they will ALWAYS charge the card you put on file for a deposit against any damages and such..
This is something they should tell people because I very often purchase hotels for my kids when they travel but she basically told me I couldn't buy a hotel for my kids unless I'm there because they WILL ONLY charge the card Presented at check in..
Same goes if you travel for work.. many company cards these days are digital.. so when booking a room you use your digital card to book it.. and if you wanted to use a different card for accidentals and such YOU CANT that will be the card charged for full stay...
This is the first time I have EVER heard this and I have booked hundreds and hundreds of hotels for myself and for my kids this has never been a policy I've heard of before...
But thats neither here nor there I don't fault her for The apparent policy that I've never experienced before at other Marriotts but thats fine.. it was her attitude.. most unprofessional I have ever experienced being in the hospitality industry.. she talked over me... could tell she wanted me off the phone and got rude just for asking her questions..
Basically... if you have to book a room here for someone else or use 2 different cards you must book via third party website..
I know her information is wrong because I have stayed at many Marriotts and have never had this... they ALWAYS ask would u like to charge the card on file which is the card used to book the room OR the card used at check in..
I am writing corporate to get a verification on this.. and to let them know I travel working In the hospitality industry and the call backs are usually those with the most experience and most knowledgeable..
Very disappointed because the hotel was actually pleasant.. I would recommend if you don't have to deal with this lady and knowing that it doesn't matter if you pre book and want to use a diff5 card or if someone booked for you they're going to charge your card given at check in... as long as you understand that and not have to deal with this lady and not sensitive to smoke then stay here...
Read moreOff of Interstate 5, this hotel is just 4 miles from downtown. Its location is beautiful, and just one mile down a tree-lined street to the marina and a jogging path along the water. There is a beautiful enclosed courtyard where one can have coffee or just enjoy the outdoors. The front desk staff is friendly and really aims to please. Housekeeping was everyday (so nice) even though the website says every other day. ||||I wanted to give this place a 5-star review, but the breakfast person after the first two days was not warm and and helpful. The first two days, we had a wonderful, cheery lady that came over from the Courtyard next door. She made you feel welcomed, and I wanted to come to breakfast. She went out of her way to make sure we had everything we wanted or needed. She took pride in her work and presentation (oranges and ice in the water carafe), lots of fresh fruit salad - all the way to the end of breakfast. And, the breakfast area was spotless and inviting.||||Saturday, this lady had left and the "normal" person did breakfast. She was grumpy and unsmiling. We asked for fruit salad for two days, and she said there was none - even though we could see melons sitting on the counter. She brought out a big plastic bowl full of scrambled eggs and just scooped them to refill the nice silver dish. I mean, sure, we know the eggs aren't fried fresh, but how difficult would it be to bring a silver serving dish out already filled up and replace it with the empty one. The water carafe was just that - no ice and no sliced fruit. I asked her how she was doing, being friendly, and she said "I'll be better in an hour when I'm off." And, management came to talk to her and she raised her voice and started griping. Management nicely reminded her that guests were around, and she lowered her voice." No matter, this person needs an attitude adjustment. The best person to train her would be the wonderful lady from the Courtyard restaurant, who was an...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying at this property for a long term work stay, and I can't express enough how impressed I was by both the quality of the accommodations and the exceptional service provided by the staff.
From the moment I arrived, I was warmly greeted by the front desk team, who made check-in seamless and ensured I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The room was immaculate – spacious, tastefully decorated, and equipped with all the amenities one could hope for.
However, what truly set this experience apart was the hotel staff's incredible effort to handle an unexpected situation. During my stay, there was an issue with excessive noise from outside the hotel that made it a bit difficult to rest and relax. While this was beyond the hotel’s control, the management team took immediate action to address the situation once i made them aware. They proactively reached out to me to apologize for the disruption and offered me a room change. I was truly impressed with how they turned an inconvenience into a positive experience.
The staff’s professionalism and genuine care for guest satisfaction made all the difference, and it’s clear they go above and beyond to ensure a great stay. Their thoughtful communication and swift resolution of the noise issue demonstrated their commitment to providing exceptional service. Shout out to Nicole, Rachel, Emily, and Patty for their truly excellent customer care....they are superstars of customer care and service.
I highly recommend this property anyone visiting the area. Whether you're looking for a relaxing getaway or a place to rest after a busy day, this hotel has it all. I look forward to returning in the future and will certainly choose this Residence Inn again for its outstanding service and...
