Drove from SF to check this out it was highly recommended to me. Thankie Jacky & Geno. So we decided to take my close friends 🧡 to masa!!! Which I'm glad 😊 we did! Entering I was mesmerized how simple the decor & the light warmth of the place. Very comfy & different; example the dark red curtain hiding the whole restaurant itself like it's a mystery once we entered it was spacious & unique! The chairs has plenty of space like you're in a traditional seats of a Japanese edo period like an antique feeling but with a modern twist! The lightings & the painting even the divider is a unique feature incase of need of privacy. Did I mentioned a truly family owned! Very attentive siblings introducing themselves to their guests & they'll tell you the honest recommendations to try. Now the menu! Affordable & good portions! Lots of selections! I can't wait to try their dinner menu next time I'm in town. I have a favorite dish there called "the last samurai" 😋 huge portions with different slices of fish, crab, crispy Cucumber, fish eggs, & special sauce! It's so huge I had to ask my friends to share it with me,along with the Philadelphia rolls of cream cheese & salmon! Besides the rolls their bento 🍱 menus was good also! You can mix match of main dishes to side dishes! Don't forget to try their appetizers i liked their takoyaki alot! Next time ill order 2 or 3 more sets! Truly I can't wait to try the dinner menus & update this review in the future! Please support...
Read moreQuaint location in a strip mall. Walking in we were surprised by a cool, dark interior with some mellow R&B music playing. We had Spicy Edamame, which was perfect level is heat and savory. They offered calamari tentacles, intrigued we ordered. Almost immediately, our dishes arrived on small plates. The calamari was shatteringly crispy and piping hot. Coated in a light panko crust, the hand cut calamari was tentacles and the combination of crisp went well with a ginger soy dipping sauce. My 16 year old son and I fought over the last piece. The edamame seemed fresh. I’ve had enough frozen to tell the difference. They were worth ordering. The sushi was generous portions of fresh fish. My son had the Sora Dragon roll. It’s a Tempura shrimp with crab in a roll. It was amazing! Wine list is Meh. They’re focused on Sake cocktails, which to each their own. Looked like an amazing place for a date or date night. We found it randomly on G Maps. I’d...
Read moreThis was my favorite sushi place to eat in stockton. However I'm unsure what's happened but the time to eat has become suddenly really long. Do not eat here if you need to be out of there in an hour and a half, because it's not possible. It used to have timely service but the last two times I've been it's almost an hour until you get an appetizer. We previously went with a group and it was 45 min before we got drinks. It was almost 2 hours until we got our mains. It took 2.5 hours for a group of 8 of us to get out of there. Granted this was a bigger group (which didn't used to be an issue but is now). However, this last time just two of us were eating and we were there at 6 and it was over 50 min to get an appetizer. We had to pay our bill before our main before we had somewhere to be and then scarfed down our food and ran out. Sucks that the time to eat at this place has become so poor. The food is still good ( if you get time...
