I have been staying in hotels for the better part of the last year after selling my home and awaiting to find my next home. That said, I've had much experience over this time with different hotels throughout the region, and in other states. I am from Stockton, and to be honest, I was reluctant to give this place a chance based entirely on location and what I've known of the area. Fortunately, I booked her and was pleasantly surprised. The hotel has been expertly modernized and the rooms and grounds are immaculate. The pool is so clean and peaceful that I forgot that was downtown. The property is fenced on all sides but for the driveways and they parking and pet areas were clean and safe. There is security at night, and the staff seems to be constantly watching the many security cameras and stays on top of everything that goes on here. I felt very safe and really didn't worry about my vehicle or property left in my room while I was away at work most days.
The moment I first entered the lobby to check- in I felt very welcome and knew that I was in good hands here. Mike is the epitomy of professionalism and also friendly and treated us as welcomed guests upon arrival. He made check-in a breeze and we felt appreciated for our business - I have not experienced that treatment in most places I've stayed. Both Mike's have been great and have taken good care of us. The same is true with Heather, as well as Lucky and the other ladies & gentlemen in the front office. Any questions or concerns we have had did receive prompt response and, most often, remedy. The housekeeping staff is extremely helpful and so was the maintenance the one time my companio needed help getting the hairdryer to work while running late for Thanksgiving with family; he brought us a brand new one within 5 min. Saved the day.
I could go on, but I'll finish here with a major bravo to Studio 6 Stockton. This is definitely the placein Stockton that I will return if I need a place to stay around here...
Read moreAltho this place advertises this location as being "pet friendly", I now see something else on here that says, "No Pets"! Well, which is it? Pets or not??
Ok folks... Well, took a chance & went there last week. It's very nice motel & very clean, which I cannot say of the other Motel 6 locations in Stockton. This is Motel 6 Suites motel, so make sure you get the right one ~ it matters! This one does allow pets, for a slight charge & with $100 deposit, which will be returned as long as pet does no damage, doesn't use room as toilet, etc. The rooms are very nice ~ all are non-smoking tho, so you will need to get dressed & go outside to smoke. The bed is big & comfortable...no backache in the morning.😉 The TV is also large, about 50" I'd guess; has all the channels you could want & nice clear picture! The pool is lovely, especially pretty st night & next time I will bring swimsuit so I can take a swim in it! The room had a decent size fridge & freezer in it, also a microwave & coffeemaker - all were nice & they worked well. Everything in the room is fairly fresh & new. They have a little store in lobby with snacks, drinks & some food. We bought a couple microwave dinners 1 night when I wasn't feeling well enuff to go out & eat. Your keycard for the door slips into a little pocket on wall inside the door & turns on the lights. You'll also need it for the elevator, which is smooth & efficient, not like some others. I cannot physically take stairs anymore, so appreciate a good elevator! Rooms must be pretty soundproof cuz' we never heard neighbors at all, as if no one there. The shower is new type with the huge showerhead that "rains" on you. The neighborhood isn't a good place to walk around at night, so walk your dog early. Parking is fenced in & well-lit, so no worries there. There's open space parking for big trucks, like moving trucks. And the young lady at front desk named "Lucky" is very nice, helpful & happy to see you. ...
Read moreI initially left a 2 star but half of my rating is influenced by circumstances that this hotel cannot control. We booked this room as we were passing through Stockton for the evening and I definitely think we over paid. However, considering the rest of Stockton is unpleasant and this hotel at least from the outside parking lot makes this a hidden gem, I still don’t think it’s worth $150 a night.
Circumstances the hotel can’t control: First, “waterfront” is deceiving when it’s across the street from the end of the river, where there is gunk and trash in it and it’s not even nice to look at. The park across the street was closed. There were homeless people on drugs everywhere. I was nervous to even walk across the street. I was terrified to drive anywhere to get food and the closest drive through is next to a homeless camp (it was late and we needed something quick). Most restaurants around the area look to be closed from Covid. Sad, but we didn’t have many options other than Hawaiian which was also closed for the night
Things the hotel can control: Beds we’re very uncomfortable Sheets were insanely rough Floor had dirty footprints The towel and toilet paper holders were coming out of the drywall There was a group of guys hanging out by my car making me nervous (was it someone who worked there? I would have felt better if it was but they were just in tshirts)
However, this is probably the second nicest hotel in the nearby area and I think this is probably the best you’ll get in Stockton. Hence the 3 stars, but I guess I should have lowered my standard for a bad area. Had I known how uncomfortable the beds would be, I would have opted to spend more money at a hotel where it was more comfortable. I didn’t even bother using the showers because I felt grossed out. I didn’t feel safe at all and I’m surprised other people had a...
