Beautiful hotel, great location - walkable to everything in town and a short drive to all the local attractions - very clean room.
However, upon returning from a day of sightseeing we found that our in room air-conditioning had leaked all over the main bed (it was soaked) and the night stand. It was a Saturday late afternoon, and the front desk attendant said sorry we are booked full and there is no maid service or any other support we can give. Just turn the air conditioning off. We were able to get some extra towels and sheets - but the bed was not able to be used - and we could not turn on the air-conditioning (and there are no windows that can be opened if not in a balcony room - it was room 206) We were able to use the 2 twin beds in the loft area - but certainly not what we had expected.
The desk attendant said she would leave a message for the manager (Becca) and said that she would call us regarding a discount. Becca never called, and a discount initially was not applied. We called the hotel 3 days later and Becca indicated she would give us a $20 discount for the inconvenience.
While that was appreciated - it was far from reconciling the issue we encountered.
Although a great location, the service we experienced, would definitely keep us from staying here again...
Read moreWhat a great little hidden gem of a place. Stayed here on the last night of a four day, 2000 mile road trip. The loft arrangement was really unique and enabled a tiny bit more privacy than a standard hotel room. Loved the vibe with the historical look on the outside but completely modern interior and room. Another guest commented about a lack of windows but our room had a high window with an electric shade that let in plenty of light. The folks running the front desk/cafe were super friendly and even helped us plan the route for our next day. Despite the fact there was a "battle of the bands" festival going on right out front of the hotel the rooms were quiet and super comfortable. We picked this hotel to avoid the tourist feel of Deadwood and the strip mall feel of the big hotels in Rapid City. Turned out to be a...
Read moreThis is a great place. The beds are very comfortable. I usually don’t find a room that has 3 beds and it worked out perfectly with my teenage kids. The location was great and having a coffee shop inside the building was very convenient. However, arriving late at night and not having anyone at the front desk was surprising. After calling the Hotel multiple times, with no answer, on their voice message, it suggested you call or go to the Oasis bar across the street for assistance. Leaving my young teenagers outside, with our dog, so I can go inside and get help, was not was I planned for. The bar tender was able to give me our keys and we finally were able to get in the hotel. A little heads up from the hotel or receptionist who took my reservation about their lobby operations would of being greatly...
