My husband and I are locals, moving to Sturgis after living in Hill City for 35 years and decided to give this place a try for dinner. Knowing it was a saloon/restaurant combo we weren't expecting the Alpine Inn. We eat out on average of a couple of times a week, so there was potential for this place to gain our support for years to come! When I ordered the entree of chicken fried steak, the menu (which you can also.read online here!) stated I was to receive veggies AND a choice of potato AND a salad! I got the steak (Luke warm and about the size of a fried egg!) and mashed potatoes with gravy...NO veggies and NO salad! The Aussie that waited on us never came back to the table to check on us. When he finally showed up to bring our check, I asked about my veggies (didn't even get to all about the salad!!) and the jerk ARGUED with me and tried to tell me that it was a choice of veggies OR potato!!! He didn't even go get the menu and let me read it again! I did so on our way out and, sure enough...I AM CORRECT!! We will NEVER go to the Sidehack again and we will NEVER refer anyone there! Save yourself the headache... just get really good food, AMAZING SERVICE, and EXTRAORDINARY beer...Go to the @SturgisBrewingCompany!!
