I have 2 complaints
My first complaint: my family was supposed to arrive the 13th so I got the hotel for 13-14. They ended up arriving earlier than expected (around 3 am) so I took them there after picking them up from the airport and tried to check in early (which I have done several times before with IHG no issues provided they have availability). I was denied early check in so I request to just pay for an additional night and was denied again and even lied to. I was told the hotel was 100% booked. Mind you there was virtually an empty parking lot and when you got online (and I even confirmed with 24 hour customer service) there was SEVERAL rooms available at this location. It was so obvious that the employee did not want to do his job since he was excessively dismissive that I just went to another location about 2 miles away (the days inn which also has it's complaints but is being remodeled to an IHG thank God).
My second complaint is my brother walked in and over the the front desk receptionist talking trash about our group after we left the pool because he accidentally walked the wrong direction to the elevator.
What had happened was we lost track of time and didn't realize we went over 10 minutes after it closed but as soon as she came in we didn't argue, we gathered our things and dried off and left without argument.
However she was over heard bad talking about our group because there was excessive amounts of water out side of the pool that she assumed to be from our group. The water was infact not even from us it was from a group of 3 little girls (had to all be about 8 years old) who were playing with toys and doing flips in the pool. It's just frustrating that we were really trying to be nice and do the right thing as quick as possible when she spoke to us just to have her turn around and be rude. It's terrible to have an employee talk trash about us to other patrons staying at the property for something we didn't even do. It was CHILDREN having fun.
It's blatantly obvious these employees are unprofessional and disrespectful. After the IHG is remodeled I'll never stay here again. It's important to note the ONLY thing that this location is has that others do not is it has an indoor pool which is the ONLY reason I had chosen it. I wanted my son to have a little mid winter swimming fun while visiting with family from several states away for a few hours but with attitudes like this I'll just take him to a indoor water park for full...
Read moreI was so pleased with the owners and their stay they were amazingly polite and I knew the owner and his wife are truly great people not only do they make sure the guests every need are taken care of they are also very good to their employees you can see that in the faces and attitude of all the employees, they were all friendly and took care of us all no matter the time of day or night and always with a smile on their face .... The rooms are amazing, the beds & pillows are so clean and comfortable, oh and so quiet I never ever heard any noise from the service road or the Freeway and that's a very good thing 🙏😀!!!! The decor is beautiful and inviting plus roomy front entrance! The wifi is amazing and there was never a problem with connection or speed it works great, I loved the breakfast and they had coffee all day long & they had a section at the front desk where you could buy snacks candy chips ice cream and other things like cold medicine & Tylenol, Advil, plus all kinds of stores and restaurants and minutes from downtown Sulphur springs tx and it's a beautiful little town !! The only thing that was upsetting to me was how a couple other customers acted towards the hotel people during the first two days I was .. There was an issue with the elevator the day I checked in but the owner was so amazing and letting you know that there was an issue and THAT HE HAD PEOPLE WORKING ON IT AND HE DID HAVE PEOPLE WORKING ON IT.. THE COMPANY HE HAS A CONTRACT WITH WORKED ON THE ELEVATOR SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE 2 DAYS THEY WOULD GET IT WORKING THEN IT WOULD BREAK DOWN THE NEXT MORNING SO YES IT TOOK A COUPLE DAYS TO GET IT TO STAY FIXED BUT IT EAD NOT THE FAULT OF THE HOTEL HE DID ALL A OWNER CAN DO!!!! I hope those people who were not understanding about the elevator never have company at their home when something breaks down like the air-conditioned or heat or the electric or even their car especially if they are the only ones with a car !!! My point is things do break down and the owner did everything in his power to get the elevator back up and running...
Read moreI arrived at 2am and the little young lady who worked at the desk was so helpful. I think she said her name was Tiffany. I got checked in extremely quickly and with ease. She helped me find a food place open during the early morning.this morning Apon going for breakfast in the hotel I was there a few minutes early but the same front desk lady Tiffany was making breakfast and told me go right on ahead and help myself. Delightful breakfast she made. While eating my breakfast I thought let me get some work on my laptop done. I could not figure out the WiFi password or how to connect so I asked her to help me and she was able to figure it out. She went above and beyond for my stay. My only complaint would be the other lady I seen start her shift that morning and rudely interrupt while trying to get my WiFi going by expressing her thoughts on what Tiffany needed to do. Let me tell you Tiffany continued trying to help me and told that other worker I will do what my boss has told me and how he has told me to do it and please do not speak to me like that in front of a guest. This woman continued on telling her what to do. Tiffany asked if we could step to the seated area and apologized for that woman’s behavior and got my WiFi going! Hats off to that young lady Tiffany she deserves a raise. And for the other woman I hope she gets a talk to from there boss and learns kindness and respect goes a long way. I will be back next week and will be asking for Tiffany and her boss to show...
