Okay, so it's "fast food". Give it a shot! Upon entering, it was obviously very spacious! There was an abundance of seating available, both at tables or in booths. The young lady behind the counter waited patiently while I perused the menu, but never left her post while I was contemplating my order. Once I had made a decision, she greeted me with a smile and took my order. I opted for a hamburger with jalapenos on it with fries and a drink. Instead of delivering it immediately, she gave me a cup to take to the self-serve drink station (hello, free refills) and a little number placard. Instead of giving me a pre-wrapped burger that had been sitting under warming lamps for who knows how long, presumably they were making it fresh! I filled my cup, grabbed a lid and a straw, and found a suitable table, upon which I placed my little placard. Upon sitting down, I noticed that in addition to regular ketchup being available, they also offered spicy ketchup, both with Whataburger branding on them. I immediately knew which one I was going to try! (As a side note, an employee was walking through the area as another customer was finished with his meal and getting up to leave, and she asked if he would like her to dispose of his trash for him. Kudos to Whataburger for that!) Within 5-10 minutes of my order, another employee brought me a tray with my lunch. The bun on the burger was nicely toasted and not at all soggy. The meat was done, though a little thin. But the veggies (crisp lettuce, firm tomato slices, crispy pickle slices) were all amazing! And they were certainly generous with the jalapenos. The juices running down my hands and off my wrists, while a little messy, was a signal to me that I was holding freshness in a bun! The fries also held to this high standard. They were firm and crisp without being crunchy, and were nicely salted. The spicy ketchup I dipped them in was an excellent compliment in spiciness to the burger I was enjoying. So, plenty of space, friendly and helpful employees, and excellent food. At "fast food" prices. Yes, I will...
Read moreWe purchased a Whataburger, fries and drink combo, as well as Whatawings and a second drink. I’m being generous with my rating giving the restaurant ⭐️⭐️because my husband liked the burger and we both thought the fries were good. As for the Whatawings, they were nothing more than “saucy nuggets”…VERY small (with most of them about being the size of McDonald’s nuggets) and clearly NOT worth the rather hefty price tag of $1.10 per nugget ($10.00 for an order of 9). Add to that a medium drink for $2.80 (or make it a meal for an extra $3.49, and you have a very expensive but highly unsatisfying meal. As to the quality of the nuggets themselves, the ones we ordered were drenched in a sauce similar to (but not as tasty as…and FAR more acidic than) the Panda Express orange sauce. There was so much sauce, it was all I could taste. I would have liked the dish better if I could have ordered the sauce on the side instead. Unfortunately, you can get plain nuggets with any sauce on the side EXCEPT sweet-spicy.
To sum it up, the high prices and disappointing nuggets ruined the experience for us. Whataburger is no longer the great brand we remember from years ago, and I doubt we’ll return despite the free burger we earned. There are far better places to spend...
Read moreMy wife and I stop at Whataburger in Sulphur Springs almost every Wednesday after church, we stopped on Wednesday night 6/21/23, ordered our meal and sat down. We waited and waited and waited, everyone else was getting there orders while we was waiting. after 20 minutes, I walked to the counter and asked what happened to our order, it was number 57 (110163). they said they did not have that number. I said here is my receipt, just give me my money back. The manager was in front of me in a heartbeat, she began apoligizing in a very sweet manner and returned my money; then said please wait just a moment and they brought our order to us, Free of charge. Mistakes happen and that manager did not have to do that, but she did, and My wife and I was in awe. That manager and her staff treated us like we was the only customers in the place. It's hard to find good management these days, but this was an exception, not just because we got a free meal, but the speed and courtious way it was handled by that manager and her crew. We will continue to stop at our Whataburger on Wednesday Nights.Thank...
