Fun, chill, and casual Tex-Mex spot with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating even when they’re packed. Service is quick and genuinely friendly, and you pay right at your table so your card never goes on its own adventure. The vibe works for families, groups, dates, or just a couple drinks at the bar when you want tacos without the drama.
I’ve tried their frozen margarita, passion fruit margarita, and the Mexican Daisy. All are bright and refreshing, but the frozen margarita is the clear winner. It's basically a grown-up ICEE. If you want something stronger, my brother swears by the Free Bird cocktail. Food-wise, the nachos with asada or al pastor are loaded, smoky, and disappear faster than you can say “just one more chip.” The Portobello Tacos shocked me. They were hearty and craveable. The rice and beans on the side are perfect when you mix them together. Their delicious Crunchwrap is shareable and messy enough that you’ll be glad you know your tablemates.
Beautiful space, good drinks, smoky meats, and fast service. BarBacoa really knows how to taco ’bout flavor.
NOTES/TIPS: **Wheelchair-accessible. Shareable dishes. Ask for their green and red sauces. I prefer the green one for its brightness. **A few feet from the Summit Farmers Market on Deforest Ave. **Parking deck nearby off of Springfield Ave by ZRolls Ice Cream....
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of enjoying an incredible lunch experience at Bar Bacoa, and it was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere set the tone for what would be a memorable meal.
The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the impeccable service provided by our server, Lukas. Lukas went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was perfect. His attentiveness, friendly demeanor, and deep knowledge of the menu truly enhanced our visit. He made excellent recommendations, and his passion for great food and outstanding service was evident throughout our meal.
The food at Bar Baco was simply phenomenal. Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The ingredients were fresh, and the creative combinations made every bite a delight. We particularly enjoyed the guacamole, which were standouts in an already impressive lineup.
Overall, our lunch at Bar Baco was fantastic, thanks in large part to Lukas and the entire team’s dedication to excellence. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend Bar Bacoa to anyone looking for an extraordinary...
Read moreWe've been here a few times and I'm happy to say that the food is improving, but not at the price point that they are charging.
We're always looking for a spot that has genuine, good tasting food and an atmosphere that leaves you with being satiated. This place almost hits the mark. We did like the fact that the front windows are actually garage doors and that those doors were fully open on a warm day. What is odd about the place is the eclectic decorations, what i mean is that this is a Mexican themed restaurant but they have some album art on the walls that are reminiscent of a teenagers bedroom from 1990 ¯\(ツ)/¯
We got the nachos with chicken ( the best dish of the night) street corn (substandard considering we're in the middle of the corn season in NJ) the wings were great, very smoky and the right amount of spice with the Cholula sauce! Also had the shrimp tacos and chicken tacos ( these were ok).
They need to continue to focus on the quality of the food, while it has improved quite a bit, there needs to be additional focus on things like the street corn, which was way overcooked...
