DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!! My husband and I travel frequently and to put it simply, we have never experienced anything as terrible as the stay at Days Inn in Tampa!!! Even staying at 2 star motels in foreign countries were better/cleaner and less detrimental to our health than the Days Inn Tampa. To say that we had a terrible stay is putting it lightly.
From the moment we set foot into the lobby we were overcome with the smell of marijuana, there was no one at the front desk, we called the hotels phone number and waited in the lobby for 10minutes before we found the front desk clerk down the hall. The room was not only disgusting, there was actually some MAJOR serious health concerns!!! Blood, Urine & Hair on the toilet seat, blood stained towels, blood stained duvet, unfinished wall work, the smoke alarm was beeping due to low battery which my husband needed to change and this was the “upgrade” the front desk clerk offered us due to the check-in inconvenience!!! I can’t imagine what the standard room was like????!!!! Being extremely concerned about COVID I had packed many disinfectants and managed to clean the space enough that we figured we could at least just get some sleep. The only reason we did not check out immediately was that it was after 10pm, we had just driven for 8hrs and were exhausted. Not to mention that we would have then needed to start to look for other hotels in the middle of the night.
Unfortunately we barely slept at all due to the strength of the marijuana smell that billowed through the entire room ALL...NIGHT!!! We didn’t want to even pull the sheets up to our face as the duvet was disgusting and we didn’t want to risk our health with the sheets!
In the morning there was no continental breakfast, the guy at the front desk just said “whatever is over there is what is left” and could not care less. We honestly could not get out of there any faster. We checked out and decided to take this up with Wyndham once at home so that we would not spend any more time of our precious anniversary time dealing with this terrible experience.
We typically stay at Marriott hotels or Hilton during our travels but we never thought a stay at a Wyndham hotel would be THIS BAD!!!! We will NEVER stay at a Days Inn EVER AGAIN and probably never any Wyndham Hotel at all.
Update: 3 weeks later Wyndham wants to offer 3000 “bonus points” which is not even enough to cover a stay at their worst motel. Terrible customer...
Read moreJust because of the name wyndham attached to this hotel, we tried our luck for 3 nights stay when we visited Tampa. We booked king size bed , which on the website looked good , BUT this place is a scrap : smelling, dirtycarpet, broken furnitures, bathroom not cleaned , pillows were crumbled, out of shape. We were shown a room with queen bed on second level when we arrived at 10 pm by an very shabby guy who was smelly and not wearing masks. We told him that we had booked a king size bed , he said there is only 2 rooms with queen bed now available and all other rooms are taken. We declined to take the one he offered because the condition of this room were very dirty and pathetic, more over we booked a king size bed with more space. So I started to call other hotels nearby , when the receptionists saw we are not going to take the room he offered, he called the owner Vijay Patel who owns this shady hotel and was talking in Gujarati language, which we did not understand what he was speaking. After 10 mins , he said "oh by the way there is one room downstairs which has king size bed that I am going to show you ". He took us to that room , which is slightly better in space but not very clean. As it was 11 pm then we stayed there.I am uploading the pictures of this dirty hotel. I had to clean the whole furnitures, bathroom counters with Lysol , which they provided. When the cleaning lady came next morning, I asked them to vaccum which h they refused to do saying " Because of Covid we do not clean when people are occupied, only when they leave." This place looks like the cleaning ladies only change bedsheets , towels and do not clean or sanitize as they should during Covid times. I asked them to give vaccum and I cleaned the carpet by myself. Also you can see cockroaches crawling in to the bathroom from bedroom where the carpets are so dirty. These Gujarati owner is all making money , but not keeping their hotel clean or provide good service. The ice bucket is broken on the sides with dirt on it , end tables are chipped away on the edges, towels are rough, microwave will take ages to warm food, refrigerator is very small : all below par things provided. There is faulty non functional , broken ice maker in lower level, which is useless. I would not stay in this place or reccomend this place to...
Read moreI had to write a review after reading all the other reviews. Stayed for 2 nights April 22nd - 24th 2022. I gave at least 2 stars because our experience was not as bad as others. The room didn’t smell like cigarettes as others complained about, was decently clean, I had no concerns about dirty sheets or bugs and the beds were pretty comfortable. They did have soap, Matrix hair products and mouthwash. There was a lot of dust on the curtains and lamps and a mysterious sticky substance on the tall dresser under the TV. Descent fridge. But ….. there was a shoddy failed water damage repair on the ceiling in the corner of the shower, the bathroom door skin must have come off at some point from steam so they just nailed it back on with black nails, looked so jankety, after I showered there was a message on the steamy mirror that said “this place sucks” I left one myself, welcome to the jungle, haha. Where there once was an iron hanging on the wall was an outline of an iron from where it was painted around before it was removed and the ground floor rooms all have sliding glass doors, nice but doesn’t feel as secure, oh and there was a huge pile of cigarette butts outside of the sliding door :p As many other reviews have said, lots of weed smell (I really don’t care, contributed myself, lol) , shady part of town and people lingering. I think the owners live there because the ground floor outside of the rooms smelled like Indian food. Never got up early enough for the included “breakfast” wich only was available until 9 on a Saturday! But from other reviews apparently they only offered coffee and maybe juice or water. Would be nice if there were coffee makers in the rooms. Served it’s purpose to sleep while visiting Tampa for a concert. Wyndham should be ashamed to be associated with this...
