I went in yesterday for lunch after it finished raining. While i was ordering on my phone(2 other people were using the 2 kiosks she you can't order in person even though three was like 5 employees just standing there) I asked to use the restroom (it's always locked) and the manager came out to unlock the door and I grabbed my backpack so I could change into dry clothes and was told thar "he" doesn't allow us to take our backpacks in the bathroom I would I politely explain that I had dry clothes on and didn't know anything like clothes while I ate my lunch and again Ted I don't let y'all take your bags in the bathroom and again I asked him who y'all was because I was there by myself and he said he said you know who y'all is you're very very basically spit that at me I'm going to assume it would be there or racist comment because I was the only white person in the building at a time and everybody else thought that was funny or he misjudged me as homeless which why the homeless can't take their backpack in the bathroom I don't understand but either way that was not the age not what I said that was the rudest most disrespectful way I've been talking to you ever in a restaurant hell actually almost anywhere in any business I have 15 years kitchen management experience and the restaurant in general management experience and I would have fired on the spot any employee that talks to any customer like that especially for no reason at which point I just left I went to McDonald's at lunch and I explained to him I have money I'm a customer I'm ordering on my phone because you going to take my order and yes I'm going to change clothes and eat and dry clothes while I finish my order but like I said he did not allow that I will not go to that Taco Bell again which I usually eat there at least twice a week yes I like I said either way either stereotype me as homeless which is really ridiculous anyway even if I was home why couldn't I change my clothes I don't understand that or he was racist either way neither one of those things are acceptable and somebody is homeless let him change their freaking clothes who cares and why in the bathroom blocked and he proceeded to tell me that he didn't want to clean the bathroom on a regular basis because you don't go in there and make a mess well if you don't want to clean up behind other people which is very obvious by the way the tables and their dining room looks they don't want to clean up after anybody else then get a job that doesn't deal with the public but if you're going to work in a restaurant especially fast food you are going to clean the restroom and you are going to clean the dining room you should be cleaning the restroom and the dining room on a regular basis but apparently they don't want to do those things there so they lock the bathroom door and he tried to tell me that that was an order from corporate which I don't really believe me either way I'll...
Read moreAs a delivery driver (Dasher), I’ve picked up from dozens of fast food restaurants, and unfortunately, Taco Bell consistently ranks dead last when it comes to speed and efficiency for mobile order pickups. I’m not talking about occasional delays — I’m talking about a systemic issue that repeats itself day after day, location after location.
First of all, the purpose of mobile ordering, especially through apps like DoorDash, is to streamline the process. Customers place their order in advance. Taco Bell receives it in advance. I show up at the store on time, sometimes even a few minutes late — and yet the order hasn’t even been started. Why?
I’ve spent 15, 20, even 30 minutes just standing around in the lobby waiting for orders that should have been ready before I walked in. And this isn’t a case of one understaffed night. This happens consistently. You can tell it’s a known problem when other Dashers in the store literally groan when they see Taco Bell pop up as their next pickup. That’s how bad it is.
The staff often looks overwhelmed, not rude, just clearly stressed out and backed up. The screens are overloaded with mobile orders, and no one seems to be managing the queue with any urgency or structure. It’s like DoorDash and in-person orders are competing, and Dashers always get the short end of the stick. There’s no dedicated counter or priority lane for drivers, and no system of accountability. We’re just supposed to wait… and wait… and wait.
For drivers, time is money. The longer we wait at Taco Bell, the less we earn. Every extra 10 minutes in your lobby could be a completed delivery somewhere else. We’re not getting paid to stand around. And while customers are complaining about cold food and delayed delivery, Taco Bell doesn’t seem to be doing anything to improve their mobile order logistics.
I’ve had to unassign orders multiple times from Taco Bell because it just wasn’t worth the wait. That hurts me, it hurts the customer, and it hurts the platform. It’s a lose-lose-lose scenario.
Taco Bell, you need to figure this out. Create a separate mobile order prep station. Train staff to prioritize timed orders. Add an automatic notification to start preparing when the Dasher is close. Something. Because right now, your system is broken — and Dashers are paying the price for it.
Until then, I will avoid Taco Bell pickups whenever I can. It’s simply not worth...
Read moreI'm faithful to Taco Bell, I visit this specific one often as it's conveniently on my way to work and school as well as on my way home. About 50% of the time my order is either wrong or incomplete or they added something I didn't order. My last experience was at the drive thru and the lady at the window clearly didn't want to listen to me when I asked for a Mexican pizza and not a large Pepsi. When I got to the window I had to reiterate that I didn't ask for Pepsi but a Mexican Pizza. Another time I asked to add beef to my burrito, the cashier charged me double for the beef and when I asked why, she said you won't get enough with one add on and refused to take off the additional beef charge. Another time I ordered a shredded chicken burrito, but instead I was given a cheesy bean and rice burrito. They never bother to ask if you need sauce and then even when you request it, they still forget to give you them. Taco Bell, I love your food, but your staff and operations needs improvement at this...
