Rodeway Inn Near Ybor City - Casino — Hotel in Tampa

My boyfriend and I stayed at this rat trap what appeared to be a long term residence for the ghettoist people you have ever seen. We only needed a room for one night because his truck was being repaired and that is basically our home on the road. We rented a vehicle from Avis and went to Rodeway. We had the vehicle for a week and was to turn it back in the day after checking into this rat trap. We got room and traveled to the area where it was located, there were several young people outside and a couple that looked like they got evicted from their room with all their bags and junk on the stairwell. I had a bad feeling in my stomach because it definitely did not look too comfortable. We went to the room anyway and it wasn't too bad, but it was questionable. The door looked as it had been kicked in several times prior to our arrival and the latch was busted, there was also a huge gap to the bottom which invited the smoke and the loud noises. The toilet water ran basically all night to the point where my boyfriend tired to fix it and that only lasted about a half hour. lt was only for one night, so we decided to just deal with it. Of course, like everyone posted about this place, the marijuana smoke was all over the place. Again, we dealt with. We had our dog with us so we took her out for a bathroom break and there were strange ass characters all over the place, again, we decided to just deal with it because it was only for one night. We eventually fell asleep around 2 am only to be awaken by people talking loudly across the hallway at about 6 am. We packed up our belongings and on our way to check out, we realized that all four of the tires on our rental were flat. The anger, frustration and wanting to kill somebody took us over because that was pure foolishness and we had not interfered with anyone there for them to do that nonsense. My boyfriend went to the office while I stayed with the car and the dog while he notify the manager what took place. He nonchalantly ignore our situation, he never came to look at the vehicle and he never called the cops, we had to do that ourselves. After 10 minutes of what appeared to be the worst 911 call of our lives, we were able to flag down an officer that was in the area. He took the report and reviewed the video footage which clearly showed about 6 of the hoodrats around our rental and four of them posted at each tire. The officer basically acted like he could not conduct an inspection for these rats and he himself looked like he just wanted to get the hell out of there. There was nothing in our vehicle that they could steal so maybe that's why they did that to us. I would not even put my worst enemy to stay at that place. We talked with one of the employees who saw what happened to the vehicle and told us how sorry he was and he himself do no park his vehicle on the property so what does that really say about this place. It's sad that people have to go this kind of nonsense when their on vacation or just needing a short term place to rest their head. Lesson learned, if it does not look right, go...

This was the worst stay of my life!! My fiancee and I stayed at The Rodeway Inn near Ybor City and Casino for both of our birthday weekend. We had problems from the moment that we arrived at the hotel to the moment we left. When we arrived at the hotel on Friday 10/27 to check in we were given a different price from the original price that we were quoted. There was also a notice at the checkin counter that a hold was placed on all clients credit/debit cars for the amount of I believe it was $350. They said that this was to cover any damages that may be done to the unit. Next when I was given my receipt for the bill the amount was different then the amount I was quoted and had agreed to pay. The charge was for $153 something and i was quoted $151. Then when we to go to our room things got worse. When we arrived at the room the door was not secured it was open. Then as we entered this rancid smell just wreaked all around us. The room was filthy! No one had bothering clean the room before we got there. There was a dirty ashtray and no toilet paper in the bathroom. The bedside table was literally in pieces scattered all over the room. The lock which was supposed to secure the room was broken and the remote for the TV had no batteries or cover. We immediately called down to the office and they had us go back down to meet with them. Then they gave us a new room. When we entered the room things at first seemed to be a little better. That being said there were 3 of the tinniest pillows on the bed literally maybe 8 inches long by 3 inches wide each. When I walked around on the tile floor after just a minute my entire foot was BLACK!!! There was no ice bucket there were holes in all the walls and missing paint. The tub was rotting out and shower was so low that you felt like you were a giant, keep in mind that I am only 5'2''. Then the very worst part was that the air conditioning was not working. You would turn the air on it would run for 30 seconds and shut off. It was 83 degrees in the room however the thermostat said it was only 63 degrees. I tried to call and speak with some at the hotel about it however they blew me off and said that they were too busy to address my concerns. There was no coffee pot in the room and the bed spread had burned holes all in it. Now I have some sort of rash that I have had since I slept in that bed. I am totally disgusted with the whole experience. I have videos and pictures of the room if you would like to verify that I am tell the truth. I understand that I did pay to stay in a 5 star hotel however I spent what was equal to half a weeks pay check to stay for 2 nights. I am very very upset with the whole thing. My fiancee and I saved for this trip for 4 months as we are the parents of three little girls. This experience left a terrible taste in my mouth and I don't know how else to convey...

If I could give 0, I would, unfortunately not an available option. We did not stay here, because the room offered by the hotel for our stay was absolutely disgusting and unusable. The first thing we noticed upon entering was that the lock above the door handle looked like someone had previously kicked the door in. The smell in the room was atrocious the bathroom reeked of urine. We barely got through the door with our food and luggage before the roaches started to invade. There was a hole in the wall that the property had attempted to fix which had liquid still seeping out of it. A roach flew out of the curtain and landed on my child and climbed down her leg, which terrified her. Roaches were everywhere on floor, ceilings, beds. They even painted over some roaches on ceiling. I grabbed our luggage as fast as I could and headed back to the front desk to notify of condition of room, where staff basically called me a liar until presented with photos. I was refused a full refund by management upon vacating premises. I am absolutely in shock that Choice lists this property for anyone to consider renting. Upon notifying them they said hotel is third party there was nothing they could or would do regarding the money they took from me. I was told for the inconvenience they would provide points for a free night somewhere else. Upon checking the points Choice provided are no where near enough for a free night anywhere. When I called Choice back to notify them they said I could always buy more points to make it enough for the supposedly free night. What an absolute nightmare. I had to drive my family 40 miles from this location to rent another room at 12:30 in the morning. Choice said they took my complaint seriously however this hotel is still available on their site to rent for the next person to scam. I doubt they will allow me to upload my photos to this review. The heath department should pay this place a visit and shut them down. Other hotels in the area said it is more commonly known as roachway. So this obviously isn’t a new issue.
