Metro Meat Market — Local services in Tampa

BEWARE!! When this place first opened recently it was fine. I went there a few months later and the meat in the case was brown, there was a suspicious odor and the vegetable offerings were all withering away. Against my better judgment I went ahead and bought some pork ribs that were pre packaged assuming that they would be fine. I took them home and froze them immediately as most people do. This past Sunday I go to make my fiancée a nice rib dinner, I open the defrosted package and as soon as I opened it the foul odor of rotten meat permeated my entire house!! These people are selling bad meat to hard working people who just want and expect the same quality that is given at any other place of business. Needless to say I was furious! Without a receipt of course I was not able to go and complain because I had bought the meat weeks before. I am posting this to give warning to those who may consider shopping here. I mentioned it to another meat proprietor nearby and was told these same owners had another location in Tampa that was forced to shut down for the very same thing and they opened up another location on the other side of town under a different name. I'm not sure how true that information is but my next order of business is to contact the Department of Health and make a complaint. All bad meat is dangerous but pork is especially dangerous to consume when not fresh. I am absolutely APPALLED!!! One star is too...

I like the way the local competition has people making false reviews in order to make up for the fact that Metro meat market is kicking everyone in the area that sells meat rear end. I 've never smelled spoiled meat nor have a I ever got freezer burned meat. To the ignorant novice this meat has no dyes,or preservatives so you must freeze when you get home if your not eating immediately. Then when you thaw it to eat it retains its origin al freshness. You can't educate everyone who shops at this type of fresh meat no additive meat. They do not freeze and resale meat like all the big chains ,everything is fresh cut daily, I have been a customer for 8 years and have always been treated...
